Guest COMMISSIONERHBK9 Report post Posted July 19, 2005 Can you use created signs online? Also to comment on the person who said ea sountrack sucks, I agree. Ea never does good with the soundtracks. The only game I say that has good sountracks is nba live for the past couple of years but the only problem is if you are not a rap fan then you wouldn't like it. I figure out the whole getting burn on the deep pass. I was taken control of my guys too fast. Also I was always in front of them. MY friend told me that you have to be behind them to get a good look. Does anyone about this so called sever maintence for today at 2pm pacific time?
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2005 Just to clarify, since people mentioned it, there has not been another NCAA football game released since 2004. Sega Sports released games for 2K2 9which was awesome) and 2K3, and Gamebreaker was released on the PS2 through the 2004 edition.
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2005 The EA soundtrack is the worst one I remember. The ones in the past had at least 1 or 2 decent songs --- this is pretty brutal<{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's why I listen to the fight songs, instead. UCLA's fight song rocks. Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2005 Conspiracy, deep bombs are as much a part of college football as running up the score, and both are intertwined with each other. Without deep bombs, where would Doug Flutie be? I'll tell you where he'd be, he'd be riding the bench for the Chargers. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've got no problem with the deep bomb per se. It's just when the computer's team is completely overmatch by my team in every position yet I can't hit a deep bomb for shit and he can go over my corner and the safety when I'm playing a Man Cover 2 for 45 yards it seems like cheese to me. Earn your yards computer. God knows I am.
fazzle 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2005 Yikes. Just started my dynasty with little 1 star cupcake UNCW. Won my first game, 24-14, but it was over 1AA West. First game against a real opponent, Maryland, I'm down 24-0 in the first quarter, AND my starting QB just got knocked out for the entire season with a broken shoulder blade. Gonna be a fun year. JJ Johnson 0 Report post Posted July 20, 2005 I started a Dynasty on All American, 7 minute quarters, as Texas Christian. It's the 1st quarter, and I'm up 21-0 on Oklahoma. Methinks something is wrong.
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2005 Interesting little tidbit: Vader's son Jesse White is in the game. He's the 3rd string center for Oklahoma, #60, and has a 74 rating...
JJ Johnson 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2005 That IS interesting. *Starts Vader Jr.*
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2005 I started a franchise as Northern Cal State, and they had 1 star prestige, and I booked a tough nonconference schedule in hopes of maybe finishing in the top 40 if we went undefeated. We also joined the WAC conference, so we shouldn't get any respect for a while, right? Well after two games of 44-13 and 50-0 (Against Auburn and Michigan) we all of sudden became ranked 18th. I turned off the game after that discovery.
phoenixrising 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2005 Has anyone else noticed that the running game is freaking pumped to the max on this game, especially in the second half. I've had two games where I've allowed over 175 yards to the opposing back...might have something to do with them being the impact player. However I have noticed in the second half that my o-line blocks better and my backs start ripping through gaping holes.
JJ Johnson 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2005 Porter, I would suggest that you turn the sliders up. They make a big difference in the difficulty of the game.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted July 21, 2005 I was on Heisman difficulty, but yeah the sliders should be adjusted. I just felt like the season was wasted already because I wanted to do a slow burn towards making the Top 25 polls, like over a few seasons, and I had already gotten in by the 2nd game. I decided to start over as Buffalo, a MAC team. It's much better, as I went from 117th to 99th in one game, which is pretty slow enough. I play Iowa next, so we'll see how that pans out. Ced 0 Report post Posted July 22, 2005 Now I'm going to have to play Oklahoma and check what Vader Jr.'s stats are if I move him from center to defensive tackle. C'mon, like you're not thinking of having him drill a back behind the line and just screaming out "It's VADER TIME!!"

The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2005 Wow, I can't believe all the hate for the soundtrack on here. No love for The Clash and De La Sol? COME ON. On another board I frequent, the general concensus is that this is one of the best EA soundtracks ever. I wouldn't go that far, but I still give it a thumbs up.
Ced 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2005 On its own merits, yeah sure, it's a decent soundtrack. It just seems terribly out of place within the game. The fight songs are easier to associate with collegiate football, so that's what most will stick with.
Vampiro69 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2005 A few of you have talked about using the college fight songs instead of such songs by the Pixies and De La Soul. Are you able to change it so that you can hear the fight songs and if so where do you do that at?
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2005 Hey it's got Bad Religion and NOFX on it. I love those bands. Anyways I have 2 things going. A dynasty with Minnesota and I've only just redshirted everyone and got things set up. I haven't actually started to play yet. I created myself as a Scrambling QB for OU in Race for the Heisman. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted July 25, 2005 Alright, I'm officially hooked to this fuckin' game. I went with the "Keep It" option from Gamefly which let me get the game pretty much brand new for only $37.99, case and manuals coming in about a week or less. I went out and decided to get an Action Replay as well to get the full rosters, anyone know where I can get them online? Any help would be appreciated. Damaramu 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2005 Good god the stats are pumped in this game. Vince Young has 10 TD's after 1 week and Matt Leinart has 6 TD's after one week.
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted July 26, 2005 I went out and decided to get an Action Replay as well to get the full rosters, anyone know where I can get them online? Any help would be appreciated. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have full rosters and can send them to you, if you'd like.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted July 26, 2005 Actually found them on codebreakers.com yesterday, but thanks for the offer. Pretty simple too, since I just wanted the thing for that one purpose only, so I returned the Action Replay without a problem and got my money back, and I have full rosters on NCAA. Go me. This game is so addicting. I can't get the UCLA fight song out of my head.
Matt Young 0 Report post Posted July 26, 2005 Wait... even if someone sends them to you, how the hell do you get the rosters onto your Xbox without the Action Replay or a similar device? In other news, this game will be on sale for $37 and change starting on the 31st at Circuit City, so I may pick it up with birthday money.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted July 27, 2005 No, I did use an Action Replay. Here's what happened yesterday: 3:42pm: Went to Gamestop and grudgingly bought the Action Replay for Xbox which cost $32.09 including tax. Used my debit card which was a bit freaky for me considering I'm pretty strapped for cash in my account, but it went through thankfully. 4:33pm: Got home, installed Action Replay on my comp, and saw that it had some kind of partnership with codebreakers.com, and was able to find both the Div I-A and Div I-AA rosters. Was impressed by how many games the thing supported, but realized that with me upgrading consoles later this year, and me not buying many games as a result, it was rather pointless for me to keep the damn thing, since the next NCAA I'd want to buy will be next year on the X360 anyways. 4:35pm: Decided to return game on premise of "Oh my friend already had one, and he didn't want it anymore, so I just want to return it and get my money back." Also packagaed it back together pretty much perfectly, so I got my $32.09 back. So, I basically rented the damn thing just to get the full rosters. But man it annoyed me not having the names, although interestingly enough all the names for the players seemed to have been voice recorded as well, which is kind of interesting that they'd go through that much work for something that doesn't come with the game. Matt Young 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2005 Ah, I see. As I said before, NCAA 06 will be on sale for $37.99 at Circuit City on Sunday. Should I get it if I am still planning on purchasing Madden in 2 weeks? Will NCAA's online community die once Madden is released?
UZI Suicide 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2005 Finally played it for an extended period the last couple of days. Running the ball is WAY too freaking easy. If your RB has speed above 90 and you bounce a run outside you are pretty much guarenteed 7-8 yards. CPU passing is cheesy as hell too.. they will throw up lobs and pull them down in a crowd of about 3-4 defenders. I dont get why EA keeps fucking with the gameplay.. NCAA 04 was in my eyes the best football game ever, period. But its gone downhill the last 2 years. Its a decent game if you can find the right sliders but i'll be taking it back when Madden comes out.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted July 27, 2005 I think NCAA has a bit of a different crowd than Madden, actually. I personally am content with the game enough that I'll probably hold off on getting Madden myself until football season starts (that way I can also start the season with updated rosters and the like, I'm kinda anal like that.. Never got why they always released the game before preseason even starts)
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2005 This game is so addicting. I can't get the UCLA fight song out of my head. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Me either. I never really understood why these games were released before the preseason, either. I've always been in favor of releasing them a week or so before the start of the season. Relating to this game... I also started my UCLA dynasty yesterday, played the first game against San Diego State, and won by a count of 45-10. The score was 17-10 at one point in this game, too. And I am ranked #23 as a result of this, too.
teke184 0 Report post Posted August 6, 2005 Playing the Heisman mode right now. My player is a pocket passer that I named Ron Mexico as a goof. I got between a 2500 and a 3000 on my passing drill and one of my three offers was, coincidentally enough, Virginia Tech, the alma mater of the REAL Ron Mexico. Ron put up between 4000 and 5000 passing yards as a freshman and led VT to the national championship but he didn't win the Heisman... His primary wide receiver (Justin Harper?) won it instead did because the receiver set the NCAA record on receiving yards and didn't have all of those sacks, missed passes, and INTs like Mexico did. (To explain about the misses and INTs, I've owned the past 3-4 NCAA seasons but hadn't put more than about 4 games in since 2002, when I was using the Rohan Davie to Josh Reed connection at LSU to put up record-setting point totals) Going into my Sophmore season now and I'm the pre-season favorite for the Heisman as well as for the national title. My goal is to win three Heismans, 4 ACC titles, and 4 national championships if possible, then buy a copy of Madden 2006 and bring Ron in as Aaron Brooks' replacement with the Saints if I can pull it off.
