HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 Is he the kid that died after taking a Spinebuster wrong?
Jingus Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 Damn. That sets a legal precedent which could change the entire face of wrestling over time.
LucharesuFan619 Posted July 13, 2005 Author Report Posted July 13, 2005 A flapjack, not a spinebuster.
Dangerous A Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 A scary thing is Steve Austin tried to get John Laurinitis to give Dalip "Giant" Singh a look after doing "The Longest Yard" with him. Methinks Laurinitis may think twice about Stone Cold's recommendation.
Mystery Eskimo Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 I don't know if that will change wrestling as such. It's more likely to ensure every trainer and promoter makes their wrestlers sign away any right to sue.
The Amazing Rando Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 so what happened...did he try to somersault out of the flapjack cause he wasn't sure of what was going on and the guy held him till he landed on his neck?
Mystery Eskimo Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 IIRC, Singh just hit him with the flapjack and Ong hit his head badly causing a brain haemmorage. If you google Brian Ong there's articles.
Jingus Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 Like I've said a million times, wrestling is REALLY fucking dangerous. You can get crippled or killed on the stupidest little moves. And I'm sure Roland Alexander had all his trainess sign waivers, when it comes down to it such things are just a piece of paper and any decent lawyer can get around them.

This is why I can't stand those idiots who do backyard wrestling. There are so many nuances to something like a vertical suplex or giving and taking a splash that I'm not surprised there aren't more instances of decimated spinal columns and more brain hemmorages when the backyard wrestling phenomenon was so hot years ago.
