Guest arijitbarman Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 Hi friends, I am a cricket maniac and I am really excited about the forthcoming Test series between the host England and the visitors Australia. They will be seen in action in later half of July for the most prestigious The Ashes Trophy, 2005. England will be playing for glory and Australia will be playing to defend the trophy as they are doing it for the last 9 years. This time English players like Kevin Peterson, Harmison & Andrew Flintoff will be heavy for Australia. Last night I came across a very good site named http://cricket.123india.com from where I got the latest informations about The Ashes Series 2005.Looking towards the past, bowling department of the teams will be the playing factor. Now let’s see which side makes the race.
brighty Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 the current Australian side are probably the best Test match team in history. i think we're the second best in the world at the moment, but Australia are too good, think we'll lose 4-1
Adam Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Well, Ponting is now in form with his century the other day, so England are screwed for the Ashes. All we need now is Dizzy to start taking wickets and we'll be right.
Prime Time Andrew Doyle Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Somebody tried an Asshole chant on in another thread, so I will try and start an Aussie chant in this thread AUSSIE, AUSSIE, AUSSIE, OI,OI,OI edit: The answer is yes, Australia can do it for the 10th time
Guest The Iron Yuppie Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 ***Joining in the chant*** AUSSIE, AUSSIE, AUSSIE, OI,OI,OI While I want Australia to win (and indeed, I expect them to, probably 3-1), a part of me wants to see England win, or at least have competitive matches that are in the air on the fifth day, akin to that memorable series where India defeated Australia 2-1 in India a few years back. It makes for much better cricket (and adds more of an interest to the series and subsequent series against England) unlike the way in which Australia has dominated most test series outside of matches in India (and to a lesser extent, Sri Lanka and Pakistan) for the last ten-fifteen years.
Guest MugumboMcgee Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 The Brits are on top again. We could force the Aussies to tap out, just kidding, make them follow-on. Australia are 234 runs short of England's first innings with only 3 wickets left! If they can't get 34 more runs England will make the Aussies bat again! When was the last time that happened, eh?
Anorak Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 At least England is capable of giving Australia a good game these days. It wasn't even a decent contest for way too long.
monkey Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 Well the third test match is going well and so I am getting far to excited. Not wanting to count chickens but if we went 2 - 1 it would be amazing and lead to the last two test matches being very intense.
Guest MugumboMcgee Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 Looks as if the Aussies could have a job to stop the rot. Last day of play tomorrow with the Aussies needing 399 to win or just bat out the day for a draw.
