Shanghai Kid 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2005 It will be interesting to see how this match plays out. I like the feud so far, but Shawn really needs to drop the whole "hey im still a nice guy I just want to face Hogan' and become a FULL FLEDGED heel. I'm just afraid the booking of this match is going to be lame. I don't think you can justify Hogan winning the match, I just don't find that realistic. Shawns been in an Iron Man match, Ladder matches, Hell in a Cell...he just beat Kurt Angle. And their going to have him take a boot, and a leg drop from a 50 year old and lose the match. That's the only way I see Hogan winning the match, but that's not realistic. Does even the most hardcore Hogan mark think that at this point in his career he's a better wrestler than HBK? The best ending would be Hogan missing the leg drop, Shawn kipping up and superkicking Hulkamania into the bowels of hell. Anyways, like the title says I hope this is Hogans last match, unless he faces Austin down the road.
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2005 Actually, the way Shawn's talking, he needs to superkick him during the Hulk up. That's pretty much the only thing that's "never been done" to Hogan, and the one way to "kill the myth" once and for all.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2005 I don't understand what good it will do for either guy to beat the other one though. I can't wait for the match, but in the end it wont mean anything at all, other than just being cool because two legends are going at it.
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2005 Hey, Shawn jobbing never gets old to me, so count me in on him going down to the boot and leg. Maybe Hogan will do it TWICE in the match (Shawn kicks out first time) and that is what will put Shawn down. Downhome: Which do you prefer...Big Sleep or Murder, My Sweet? I'm assuming Big Sleep given the Martha Vickers clip.
slimm44 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2005 I'm thinking this is a puppet-puppetmaster angle. Flair and HHH haven't been around, Michaels has been the focus of the show (aside from the WWE Championship) it would be a great lead-in to bringing them back, how it would work, I'm clueless. The Big Sleep is one of the most perfect films ever though. Lauren Bacall is hot and all, but I think Vickers and Joy Barlow are cuter. Here is Joy in The Big Sleep:

Anyways, like the title says I hope this is Hogans last match, unless he faces Austin down the road. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The question we all have to ask is this: Is this Hogan's last singles match in the WWE? (I had a feeling it was pretty lame for his last match to be a tag match). If the answere to that question is yes it is, then we all know who is going out on top. Actually, the way Shawn's talking, he needs to superkick him during the Hulk up. That's pretty much the only thing that's "never been done" to Hogan, and the one way to "kill the myth" once and for all. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That would 'kill' Hulkamania, but would they do that to their biggest star of all time? A 4 Horsemen with that line-up is just ghey on so many levels. If anything, HHH, CW Anderson and Nick Dinsemore. Ill tell you the 4th member when I think of him. David Flair perhaps? Flair and HHH haven't been around, Michaels has been the focus of the show (aside from the WWE Championship) it would be a great lead-in to bringing them back, how it would work, I'm clueless. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Considering that Flair was penciled in to go babyface against HHH like right now, and lead to a SummerSlam match (which of course HHH nixed by "taking time off") I'd say that they stilll are going to do that here when HHH and Flair returns but just slow build it more. With that said, I expect HHH and Flair to show up at SummerSlam and cost Hogan the match when they help Michaels beat him. From there, you have Piper returning on TV to actually team up with Hogan in the storyline against HHH, Flair, and Michaels (Piper would still be pissed at Michaels kicking him). Incorporate Angle into the mix as well in due time, as well as a Flair face turn soon after HHH and Flair returning, so you would have an interesting deal of HHH/Angle/HBK v. Hogan/Flair/Piper, possibly for Survivor Series or if you wanted to rush it, Unforgiven?

RedJed 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2005 Pretty clear this isn't his last singles match. I know he and Austin have both talked about wanting to wrestle each other. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's definately not his last match. Meltz reported there are relatively concrete plans for Austin/Hogan at Mania already, and I'm surprised this hasnt been reported much around, but Hogan has apparently signed a 20 year contract with WWE now. Not sure what that all entails, as its probably more like the merchandising contract alot of the legends are doing, but on top of it I'm sure it's a certain amount of appearances/matches each year too. Also on top of that, the rumor is (and this came from Hogan himself so take it with a grain of salt) that Vince gave Hogan complete creative control with the contract as well??? So yeah this is far from his last match, in fact I bet him and Michaels will have another match down the road again too after SummerSlam.

Isnt Hogan like 90 and falling to bits? What can a 110 year old invalid do to add to the product? And isnt Austins neck busted beyond wrestling? First match announced for WMXX2 and it already blows. I wanted to see this in 1997 (and Hogan was already downhill then), not 10 years later. Dammit, if Austin can work a match with Hogan, Vince can get in the ring and let Bret kick his ass all around Chicago. Jesus, they just got Bret's contract, tipexed his name out and gave it to Hogan. Its the exact same combined deal, the 1 which Vince backed out of twice.
notJames 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2005 I don't get why anyone would want to pair up Angle with any of HHH's cronies. Or rehash the Horsemen. Or watch another Hogan match. Or want HHH back on TV. Truth be told, though, I would love to see Mr. Showstopper lay down for something as lame as the Orange Leg Drop.

Or want HHH back on TV. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The ONLY way that I would be interested in a rehash of the Four Horsemen is if: 1) Triple H and Shawn Michaels were not involved. 2) It's not a stable composed of only "legitimate athletes turned wrestlers." 3) Ric Flair is a manager and not one of the main four. Before Morgan left, my ideal Horsemen consisted of Jericho (with his Lionheart gimmick), Conway (an oppurtunist), Dinsmore (a wrestling technician that knows everything about the history of wrestling), and Morgan (an eloquent enforcer). Flair would be the manager and would hype up Jericho like he's been hyping up Hunter. Also, Hunter wouldn't feud with the group.

Guest JMA Report post Posted July 19, 2005 Jericho if he was in shape. Those other three have no business being in the four horsemen IMHO. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I disagree. Conway and Dinsmore were a great tag team in OVW and Morgan is both visually intimidating AND a good talker. They'd make good Horsemen--unlike Mongo, Roma, Vicious, Luger, ect al. Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted July 19, 2005 The 4 Horsemen should NEVER be resurrected again in any way shape or form. While I wasn't a fan of Evolution, at least they didn't call themselves the Horsemen. The Horsemen died with WCW and shouldn't be brought back, even if Flair was involved. I'd like to think Flair would have the decency to let the Horsemen legacy just stay down as opposed to bringing it back for a cheap, WWE run.
