Some minor acquisitions.

Jozef Stumpel signed to the Panthers to a two year deal and Curtis Leschyshyn signed with the Avs making his second trip back to the team.

Cloots resigned, 2 years, 5 Mill.

GREAT signing. Very happy.

I wish he signed for 2 million, the Canucks could use some breathing room under the cap. That being said, I'm glad Cloutier is back. He's certainly better than anyone on the market right now. He showed so much promise before his injury last year, hopefully he can live up to that promise this year.

I really hope Cloutier can step it up this year. Goaltending seems to be the Canucks one major inconsitency that's blocking them from maybe going all the way. He's got potential, but the guy seems to be an off and on goalie.

I'm in. Should there be a separate thread to keep track of this stuff?

Maybe we can have another one that's a roto league as opposed to H2H. If there are enough people who want more than 1 team, I guess.

I've never done fantasy sports. What's a roto league.

[/incredibly naive internetter]

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think a roto league is where you get a certain number of points for leading the league in the different categories (e.g. whoever has the most goals gets X points, second most goals gets X-1, third gets X-2, etc ... same with assists, points, =/-, saves, etc). Then your cumulative points are added up for your place in the leage.

So instead of playing one team in a given week, you just manage your team to have the best stats in each category, and are in standings from most points to least, rather than in week-long wins & losses.

Oh, and I'm signed up for both. Northern Lights 5 in both.

Niskie has it right. Roto is more of a season-long competition, whereas H2H is more week-to-week. H2H also depends a lot on the luck of the draw (i.e. who you happen to be playing for a given week).

Both have their pros and cons.

It shall be fun, both leagues.

I like H2H soley for the Playoff feature. Roto is more like College Football, I like being in 6th and knowing I can still win.
