NoCalMike Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 If you are getting Xbox 360 it is reasonable to wait till November to get Madden, but for those of us getting PS3, are we reallt going to wait till May '06 to get Madden, but on the otherhand, if we go and buy it in 2 weeks, are we just going to turn around and buy it again for the PS3 in May? I am thinking I should just buy it now, and then in May rent it for the PS3, because in reality by the time May comes around Football is out of my system and then it will only be a few months until Madden '07.

Matt Young Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 I don't know about the PS3, but I don't see the point in waiting for the Xbox 360 version of Madden '06. It will have better graphics than the version on current consoles, but is strongly rumored to have some features cut, and the online community (the main draw for myself and many others) will be shit compared to the communities on the original Xbox and the PS2. Why wait 3 months and pay $10 more for that?

I play video game football well after the season's over, but I don't know how much the X360 version is going to appeal to me over the one I'm probably getting in about a little over a month. Also, I thought there was no official release date for the X360 yet, is there one now? Could come out in December for all I know. Madden 07 is when people'll be stepping up to the next-gen systems.. the online community is probably better around this time, to boot.
Matt Young Posted July 29, 2005 Report Posted July 29, 2005 The Xbox version is out in a week and 4 days. Also, I was at E3, TAP. The Xbox 360 was playable, and it looked gorgeous at 30% of the final unit's power. The only PS3 demos shown were of fancy cutscenes that Sony was trying to get idiots to take for in-game footage. I'll buy both systems, and both will be great, but your comments are simply not validated.

NFL 2k5 was just so much better than Madden 05. And the ensuing Maddens won't differ from what they have been. And I'll be buying a Ps3. Been a Sony customer for years.
