Campaign 2008

Gore as head of EPA or something like that would be about perfect for both him and his cause. It would give him the added clout of that office, raise the level of the office with his name, and still allow him to focus on what he wants to.

If either Gore or Obama ends up with the Dem nomination the best VP option for both would be someone with war/military/foreign affairs experience. Richardson, Clark, or someone of their ilk would provide a good balance for Gore or Obama's anti-Iraq stance and lack of experience in that area.

As was Obama.

But Gore's primary, and possibly sole, focus is on global warming. As an outsider or a Cabinet head he can continue to focus entirely on that subject without getting into the nastiness of campaigning that so scarred him in 2000. Gore NOT as President is in the best interests and desires of Gore himself, and should be considered in the best interests of those at the forefront of the global warming crisis.

He can work well with the Chinese as well!

Yes, he had some experience. Even Bush Jr had a little. But, while a Gore/Obama Admin presumably wouldn't have the kind of GI Joe doll naievety of Bush/Cheney, we have seen what problems might arise with an Administration lacking in some serious military/foreign policy credentials. Gore/Obama would certainly be better than our current leadership but either one with a Clark or Richardson would be far better.

And, either way, I still maintain that Gore would be happier & better for the global warming problem as either a Cabinet member or outside of politics.

Back to today's big topic - Has John Edwards ever looked more 'Presidential' than he did this afternoon?

Too bad the options seem to be polar opposites of each other, 'neither' doesnt really count much for a middleground or a differing opnion from the choices.

Nonetheless, I ended up with Obama as well.

Weird how they have guys on there who aren't running (yet) like Hagel and Gore, and no-hopers like Paul and Kucinich, but no Tommy Thompson. As a 4 term Governor of a blue-ish state and former Cabinet member (and breathing room from the dismal second term of Bush) I think he stands at the Huckabee level as someone capable of stepping up if McCain/Giuliani/Romney falter.

Yeesh, I got Obama as well, and I thought I was being fairly conservative in my choices. Kucinich was also my #2, followed by Rep. Ron Paul (never even heard of him, to be honest), Sen. Joe Biden, and Newt Gingrich (no f'n way I'd ever vote for him, although his views seem to have become much more mainstream over the last five years).

Tommy Thompson really should be on there...he'd be a good option as a fairly moderate Republican with a good track record as a governor of a Democratic leaning "swing state" (if you can call Wisconsin that after the last few elections), but his ties to the Bush administration would make his candidacy questionable.

The way he left the cabinet gives Tommy some distance from the more naive realm of the Bush Administration. He basically called them out at his last press conference for not focusing on the actual terrorism issues.

Paul is a Republican Texas Congressman who opposes the Iraq war. During the nonbinding House Res debate last month he gave one of the two best speeches of the entire week (it was another Texas Rep, Sam Johnson, in support of Bush, that gave the other best speech). He is almost entirely libertarian (was once the LP Presidential candidate) until he gets to abortion and then seems to think that wombs are government domain.

Look him up. He's really the only person whom I have any interest in voting for, to the point where I've entertained the idea of registering as a Republican just to support him in the primaries. That would be it between me and my parents, though.

100% with Richardson, so far that is pretty much dead on. I actually like everything this guy has said so far, pity he probably has no shot in hell of getting the nomination. We have different opinions on issues but at least he explains his opinion in a way where it doesn't sound like he's completely closed minded.

I've got that Ron Paul guy as the highest republican at around 8. John Edwards was second on my list but I don't trust him for five seconds and same goes for Joe Biden who is third. Obama was like fourth and Clinton was about 12th behind McCain.

I think I was relieved to see Hillary was way down on my list, too. Really don't think you can trust her if you're a conscious voter, and don't just want to see her as the first female President or something.

100% for Obama, 90% for Kucinich, and Richardson, Clark, Gore, and Edwards almost dead even. Hillary and Biden last among dems. Romney and Giuliani 1st two GOPers....with less than 50%. Pretty damn accurate.

Ron Paul is one of snuffbox's heroes, iirc.
