Campaign 2008

Palin campaign not releasing her medical records before election day.

doesn't it seem odd that they are stonewalling on THAT of all things? By all accounts there is nothing off about Palin's health. Hell, she looks remarkably healthy and attractive (physically at least. ok, only physically)

There are some very suspicious circumstances regarding her youngest daughter's birth. Some even say that it's really Bristol's (the oldest daughter, right?) kid.

That's already been covered and debunked via Bristol's current bastard fetus, and forcing anyone to publicly release their medical records is pretty much off-limits to anyone with a shred of ethics.

How do you get more brothers to show up at a Republican rally, anyway? Kind of an unfair question to ask her.

Well, I'm sure they could appeal to other minorities. I mean, if she wasn't using her demagoguery to imply that all Arab-Americans are somehow less American than small-town folk, she might get some more support from there. I mean, just as a start.

I had a weird dream last night where McCain wins and it eventually led to the 2nd Civil War with the New Confederacy (no idea the actual name) breaking away and choosing Obama as their President and setting up in DC while McCain had to move everything to the New Capital..somewhere in Texas.

Cant wait.

Like Ive said, even though I want McCain to win, I worry about what will happen if he does, which is probably why I had the dumb dream anyway. The city of Chicago could be in a lot of trouble if theres over a million pissed off people in the streets tomorrow night angry that Obama lost. I somehow don't think they'll just shrug their shoulders and go "oh well.." and leave.

I don't mean to act like a dickhead, it's just a stupid comment and I'm kinda getting tired of it.

As for what'll happen if he does, a few people will tip over some cars, burn some shit, break a few windows, and that'll be it.

I was in the second row at the Palin rally in Dubuque Iowa this afternoon. It was a much larger crowd than McCain's in La Crosse. The energy level was much greater; there were faintings. Hank Williams Jr did the Anthem and the Liberal Media song. He then stuck around for Palin's entire speech clapping along and making goofy gestures to whatever she said. The speech was good. Lines about helping handicapped kids and abortions got the biggest response from the crowd. With my position in the throng, Sarah Palin's stump speech, and a backdrop of Todd, Hank, and Chuck Grassley, it was a pretty weird way to spend an afternoon.

Arab and Asian Americans used to be pretty reliably Republican.

Report clears Palin in Troopergate probe.

Gov. Sarah Palin violated no ethics laws when she fired her public safety commissioner, the state personnel board concluded in a report released Monday.

Time to let it go.

And I think what hyperchord was implying was that Piper is actually Bristol's kid, since he said daughter...which is even more bizarre than the Bristol/Trig rumor.

No, I had the misfortune of seeing that sketch, and it was unfunny, unnecessarily protracted, and missed several obvious jokes. (It's clear to anyone that you have to dump California into the ocean.

I thought it was alright, but the bit went on too long.

So basically, it was a post-1995 Saturday Night Live sketch.

Interesting, given that 93-95 were terrible years for SNL, but they rebounded post-95.

One of the worst parts of the last three elections is how we've had to hail Saturday Night Live as the gold standard of political satire.

They didn't get any play in 2004. Only 2000 and 2008 was where people took notice of SNL and that was because of Downey's debate skits in 2000, the Obama-Hillary debate from the Tina Fey episode and lucking into Palin.

Tina Fey, Sarah Palin, how perfect it will be, yeah yeah yeah. It's getting to the point where I dig up old Upright Citizens Brigade clips to ascertain that Amy Poehler really was funny once and it wasn't a false memory.

Amy's Hillary was pretty funny, I thought she captured her well.

The point of the question seemed more likely to find out her thoughts on why the Republicans are becoming a whites-only party.

And the point of me posting the link to the video was that her response was stupid beyond belief. Eskimos may face racism in Alaska, but for her to say that she's lived the struggle of racism because her very white-looking husband had a few Native American great-grandparents is absurd.

SNL hasn't been good since 1994, or thereabouts. It might have some good players (Ferrell stands out), but it was never as good as the stuff which came before.

Excuse me, but I can totally relate to her answer. As a person of French-Canadian descent, I often find myself singled out and discriminated against. Don't talk like you understand what we're talking about.

Not true, 96-97 is one of the best seasons they've ever done, and 2001-2002 is really an underrated great season. 2004-2005 was a really weak season, they really dropped the ball on political humour, since they didn't have Ferrell to portray Bush and John Kerry didn't give them much to work with.

I'll save everyone some time...

SNL hasn't been good since [insert random year from my childhood here]. When [insert name of popular cast member here] left, it started to suck. They need to cancel it and get it over with.

Well, Obama has won Dixville Notch, the first precinct to turn in their votes, 15 to 6. Apparently they haven't voted Democrat since 1968. Take that as you will.

Anyone remember when Jobber called the Youth Vote the "Mythical Unicorn of elections"? I can't get into Facebook without seeing about 50% of my 200+ friends loaning out their "status updates" to the Obama campaign, along with dozens of psyched up notes about getting to the voting booths at 6:30 and 7 A.M. With that in mind, I think this comic has a bit of metaphorical weight:

I'm gonna be voting at 6 this morning (since I usually go to sleep at 7 AM anyway...I'm a second shifter) and then sleeping until 3 or so. Then I'll be watching CNN and flipping over to Fox News when appropriate to see Hannity LOSE HIS MIND.

http://rawstory.com/news/2008/California_G..._over_1103.html

In what the Washington Post called "perhaps the most ill-timed press release of the 2008 campaign," the California Republican Party announced that they'd filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission alleging that Sen. Barack Obama had illegally funneled funds from his campaign account for his personal use.

The use? Visiting his dying grandmother, whose passing was announced this afternoon.
