Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2005 That HIAC match is highly underrated around this board. While I found it merely OK on first viewing, I've come to appreciate it on further ones. It's my opinion that you don't need death-defying highspots for a match of this kind to be appreciated. It borrowed nicely from previous HIAC's but still came well on its own. Sometimes it seems that the hatred towards Michaels and/or HHH takes precedent over judging the match on its own merits. Just IMO. Well, another reason why the match is hated so much is because of the length. I mean really, if they were going to wrestle for that period of time, they might as well have booked it as an Iron Man Match instead. Me personally, I would have enjoyed the match if Shawn Michaels, who I was rooting for, had won, but he didn't so that was just icing on the shit cake. UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2005 "why don't they put their 2/3 Falls match from Fully Loaded '98" Because its 20 minutes of rest-holds, 8 minutes of laying on the mat "exhausted", 1 minute of crowd-popping Chyna interference, and 1 minute of finisher sequences. DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2005 The "Why didn't they..." questions strike me as odd considering this is updated monthly and whatever match omission complaint is being made could be rectified any given month, although don't look for a Rock/HHH match from 1998 (depsite the fact they have no problem releasing them on DVD, though not often, with everything blurred, using the same blurred video on Jukebox has yet to happen in the year it's been running). And yes, Tony's bizarre line about The Wizard had me both laughing and scratching my head.
Coolclint 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2005 Another thing to note about the Simmons vs. THE GREAT AND MIGHTY OZ match is that it's from BASH '91. Are you expecting anything from the worst PPV ever?
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2005 KOTR 95 was worse. I enjoy Bash 91 a hell of a lot more than Armageddon 03.
Slickster 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2005 Hogan & Warrior/Slaughter & Sympathizers---It's not a match made in hell if it's not HELL IN A CELL! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Bear in mind, this show was sold on "The Match Made In Heaven/The Match Made In Hell", with the opposing images of the Savage wedding and this match. I'm glad they remembered that tagline.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2005 KOTR 95 was worse. I enjoy Bash 91 a hell of a lot more than Armageddon 03. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That Armageddon must have been really bad. I didn't find any redeeming qualities to Bash 91 besides the AWESOME crowd that shit on every quarter-assed match they put on.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2005 This has been money well spent for me. I've been going through the matches on here for a while now.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2005 To anyone with Jukebox, or who just remembers, don't you just love the ending of the SS match where Taker debuted, having Hart/DiBiase going at it. I've always been a huge sucker for them facing off at the end of that match. I have also always liked that as soon as the pin was over, Bret sat up and mouthed...something. Great little match there that most people never mention.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2005 Hey guys, grab that Dragon/Mysterio match...Dragon, instead of the open area on the mask, has these badass Dragon Teeth sewn on. Kinda like "Venom" from Spider-Man. So much cooler looking, although that's nitpicking about an amazing wrestler.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2005 This month's Jukebox also gives JR's best commentary in YEARS, during the Randy Orton/Chris Benoit "SummerSlam" title match. I remember my friends and I ordered the show, all hardcore Orton marks because of his awesomeness at Backlash (Cactus), WrestleMania (Rock/Foley), and such. But we didn't think Orton would get the title *just* yet... From the match: "...the best in the business have tapped out to the Crippler Crossface...this is how Benoit won the World Title at WrestleMania! Benoit, like a pit bull dog, holding on...but Orton, I...perspiration? Or a counter? In any event, Orton slipped out of the Crossface..." "he rolled through it, the second time, and...OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (as loud as JR can scream" "RKO OUTTA NOWHERE!!!!" Check it out and hear JR mark out. UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted August 3, 2005 You won't like this. That Luger/Hogan match from Road Wild 1997 they're offering? It's already been offered, and his been in their library for months now. Could this be a sign...
