iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2005 I never seen such a collection of idiots in one location before. Bret Hart is done. This isn't Mick Foley's "Im done (for a year and then I'll do a big match for big bucks)" type of done. Bret Hart had a stroke. A stroke isn't a back or neck injury. Bret has repeated said he would never wrestle again, Taking soft bumps for a exhibition display isn't performing. Bret never ruled out working with WWE again, that has happened but Bret has soundly denied any possibility he would return to the ring. He had a huge offer on his plate to wrestle in MSG at WMXX against Kurt Angle (the one guy Bret would want to face if he could have that one last match) and turned it down. If you want to do fantasy booking for Bret's "return", feel free to. There's alot of creative ways to use your imagination but thats all Bret's coming back to. Your imagination. Stop comparing this to Shawn's injury. Stop day-dreaming that Bret has one last match in him. Stop under acknowledging the effects of a Stroke. Stop being idiots. You all know who you are. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh come on now. Sure, he's probably in no condition to wrestle a match, but to say it's impossible for him to come out and give HBK a chair shot and a sharpshooter is ridiculous. If he can take "soft bumps", then what's to stop him from doing something that involves no bumps? I'm not saying that Bret's coming back at Summerslam or any time for that matter, and I'm not saying he can wrestle a match, but to act like you know for a fact that there's no way Bret could come back for anything doesn't make sense. You don't know Bret Hart. You don't know what he's physically capable of. You don't know exactly how severe his stroke was. You don't know what Bret Hart does and doesn't want to do with the WWE. Stop pretending like you do.
WrestlingFan4Ever 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2005 Maybe Bret can come out and instead of actually hitting Shawn, Shawn just stares at Bret in shock and Hogan takes advantage of that when Shawn turns around and beats him 1-2-3. I really hope Hogan does not win clean.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2005 Bret may have been able to stand on principles for years, but the guy is going to want money, he's going to want to be able to promote his books and the only way to connect to his fans that aren't the devotees in Canada or online is through Vince. He won't bump, but he'll take part in an angle sooner or later, I'd guarantee. He's lost friends and family so fast that the only other alternative is to sit down in a chair and watch the world go by until he dies off, and he just watched his father go through that experience and likely doesn't want to do the same. No one's really mentioned it, but at this point Bret really has nothing to prove by keeping silent and bitter about the hell he's gone through over the past 8 years. Granted, I don't foresee a highly hyped "revenge" sort of angle involving Bret towards HBK, but I wouldn't rule out a final face-to-face public verbal sparring between the two sometime soon. The fans really need to see a payoff after Monday night, and that should take place someday soon.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2005 Stop expecting it. A stroke --- especially a bad one as Bret has apparently suffered --- isn't something you recover from. I honestly hope they don't have him speak because I've seen a lot of stroke victims who have their ability to speak seriously impaired. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mike, it's just a guess, but if he was on TV doing mock moves & whatnot along with acting in Aladdin, my guess is that his speaking ability hasn't been impaired too drastically. He might talk slower or more deliberate, but not like Larry Flynt or anything. Oh come on now. Sure, he's probably in no condition to wrestle a match, but to say it's impossible for him to come out and give HBK a chair shot and a sharpshooter is ridiculous. If he can take "soft bumps", then what's to stop him from doing something that involves no bumps? What's to stop him? The fact that Michaels is highly unlikely to let Hart come out and just school him without getting a single offensive move in. And the fact that it'd be stupid for the WWE to let an active wrestler get completely squashed by a guy that hasn't wrestled in years and has no chance of wrestling again. Oh, and common sense. I like Forums 0 Report post Posted August 17, 2005 To be fair, I remember Bret on Off the Record after his stroke saying that he "could" train and get in shape for one more match. So it is possible. But he followed up that statement saying that he wouldn't want to though. But that could also change.
Guest Brian Report post Posted August 17, 2005 I can't believe this is still going on. He's not going to wrestle. EVER. Case closed. Thread closed.
