Ok thanks.. what about TV shows.. this lists NWA Power Hour, NWA Saturday Night and NWA Worldwide.. were these the shows they had back then? Wasn't there a show called NWA Main Event?

thanks.... they didnt have all those shows at once did they? if they did were certain ones jobber shows and others for the main guys?

They were pretty much all jobber shows, with a semi-legit "main event" at the end.

Sunday Night Main Event started off as being all somewhat good matchups, but devolved to pretty much squash matches. Saturday night's World Championship Wrestling had a few good matches, but was pretty much just a jobber show, too.

An example of a Worldwide:

MATCH 1: Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat defeats jobber Mike Winner in 3 minutes.

-Pre-taped Interview segment - Cactus Jack rips on Ricky Steamboat.

MATCH 2: Bobby Eaton & Arn Anderson defeat jobbers Bob Cook & The Medic (!!!!) in like 4 minutes.

- Highlights of last week's Clash of Champions with Sting.

MATCH 3: Erik Watts defeats Sgt. Buddy Lee Parker in a not-so-one-sided jobber squash in 6 minutes.

- Interview with Watts, putting over the STF, looking towards the TV Title

- Run-down of the two top matches for Starrcade

MATCH 4: Flyin' Brian and Steve Austin defeated Marcus Bagwell & Z-Man in a good 8-10 minute match.

WCW Saturday Night was the "Nitro"/"Raw" for WCW during the late 80's and early 90's (into mid 90's).

It had frequent title changes (Windham over Austin TV Title, Rhodes def. Steamboat for US Title, numerous tag title changes).

Many angles were advanced or created.

I was only 7 or 8 years old, but I remember Rick Steiner being a member of the Varsity Club (he wore the Michigan jacket). When was that?

I don't remember Terry Gordy in any role, other than as a Freebird. This was also when I was very young, though.

Steiner turned face in late '88, and I'm not 100% on Gordy.

Paul Jones was more mid-80s...they never had the Russian Assassins that was Ivan Koloff's doing. Some of his men were The Barbarian, Abdullah the Butcher, Teijo Khan, and Baron Von Raschke.

Gordy was never a Varsity Club member...it was Sullivan, Rotundo, Dr. Death, and Rick Steiner.

Paul Jones, I think, also had Superstar Billy Graham before his face turn. He also managed Manny Fernandez and "Shasta" (Pistol Pez) Whatley when they turned heel against Jimmy Valient. And, if memory serves, Fernandez & Rude when they were tag champs, but I might be wrong with that.

RE: The Varsity Club. It was originally Rotundo & Steiner with Sullivan as the manager, and then Williams joined. Shortly thereafter Steiner was punked out of the group and became a face. If I remember correctly (a big if in this case) Danny Spivey had a brief run as part of the VC, too.

Sullivan & Spivey teamed up at Clash of the Champions VI, which went up against WM5, to take on the US tag champs (Rick Steiner & Eddie Gilbert).

And then again at Wrestlewar that may.
