Giuseppe Zangara Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILD HORSES COULDN'T DRAG MEEEEEE AWAAAAAAAAAAY
Giuseppe Zangara Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 The second half of Sticky Fingers is boring. Except "Dead Flowers."
Edwin MacPhisto Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 I like "Moonlight Mile" too. Does most of the grand stuff "You Can't Always Get What You Want" overloads on, but well.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 "You Gotta Move" is downright embarassing. Mick and Keith were not black and from the Delta, no matter how much they pretended otherwise.
Gary Floyd Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 Green Day <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Agreed. I actually think the world would be a slightly better place without them.
Annabelle Posted August 27, 2005 Report Posted August 27, 2005 "You Gotta Move" is downright embarassing. Mick and Keith were not black and from the Delta, no matter how much they pretended otherwise. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> nearly every album of there's is ruined by their feabile attempts to recapture the magic fo robert johnson. even ribert johnson cover songs fall flat. like the aftermath album is great, but there's just a nonsensical 12 minute stopgap of bluesy shit that totally ruins the vibe of the album. i pretty much turn it off during that song, which is a shame considering one of their finest songs (i am waiting) is a few tracks after that monstrocity.
Lord of The Curry Posted August 28, 2005 Report Posted August 28, 2005 My list.. just a portion, it's really long otherwise: Pete Yorn Sum 41 Avril Lavigne Anything from American or Canadian Idol - PLEASE, GET THE FUCK OFF OF MY TV.. Nickelback and any of their 1,000,000 clone bands Nu-metal, Nu-rock bullshit like Evanescence or anyone from a superhero comic book movie soundtrack these days Maroon 5 Interpol The Libertines Eminem 50 Cent - ooh, you were shot 9 times, that's a great marketing team you've got pal Lloyd Banks - sorry, who the fuck are you again? I'll add more later... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I was saying to myself "Thank God nobody has mentioned Interpol" until I read your comment.
Lord of The Curry Posted August 28, 2005 Report Posted August 28, 2005 I found it funny how people are saying recent U2 is bland when it's the best album they've done in a few. "City of Blinding Lights" is the closest thing you'll ever get to recreating the old U2 sound.
The Czech Republic Posted August 28, 2005 Report Posted August 28, 2005 All That You Can't Leave Behind was good, but How to Dismantle . . . really fell flat for me. Tough call for me with U2. I don't want them to get too experimental, but I don't want 80s retreads either. Maybe they should just stop making music.
Henry Spencer Posted August 28, 2005 Report Posted August 28, 2005 The only U2 album I own and enjoy is Zooropa, so I guess I do want them to get too experimental. I've heard The Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby both in their entireties a few times, as well as their big hits, and it all bores me to tears.
Guest Phate Posted August 28, 2005 Report Posted August 28, 2005 "I believe in a thing called love" by "The Darkness". I swear they are a rock band aimed at kids because they aren't good enough to make decent music for adults. Phate
Giuseppe Zangara Posted August 28, 2005 Report Posted August 28, 2005 I like Interpol, but it's pretty easy to hate them.
Lord of The Curry Posted August 28, 2005 Report Posted August 28, 2005 Agreed. They work hard at not working hard at an image.
