"Read on DVDR that Bruce Timm wrote on some blog" ? Come on. I don't believe this until it has an official press release statement attached to it.

Flash and Substance

First aired: 2/11/2006

Guest star: Walter Lang (Captain Cold), Ron Perlman (Orion) , Donal Gibson (Captain Boomerang), Mark Hamill (The Trickster), Kim Mai Guest (Linda Park), Alexis Denisof (Mirror Master)

The Flash must handle an onslaught of super-villains during the opening of a museum in his honor.

-----------

Hamill and Ron Perlman--cool. :)

And Mark reprising his role from the Flash TV series in the early 90's, to boot.

Not Timm's blog, but Paul Dini's instead:

I did an on camera interview with Bruce, David (Jimmy Olsen) Kaufman, Glen Murakami and Alan Burnett last night for the next (and last) SUPERMAN DVD set. Afterwards we went to dinner where Glen confirmed the end of TITANS, and Bruce said pretty much the same about JLU. There has been some talk about the JLU episodes airing earlier in the states, but that was still being debated at Cartoon Network. I forgot to ask Bruce how my Supergirl episode came out. Maybe I can get a preview if I'm at WB any time soon.

I had heard people were getting more territorial with certain DC characters (no more Joker in JLU, for instance) but I didn't know the details. I knew two years ago when I left, that as heroes (and their villains) got snapped up in live movie options, it tended limited their appearances elsewhere.

I still don't understand why the use of characters in the cartoon's is such a big deal to the live action movie people.

How the hell does Smallville stay on air. If anything should get pushed off the air, it's that.

For most of the episode, I was thinking that this episode was ok but nothing special. However, the end with Bats killing Devil-Ray with a gun while possessed by Deadman and Luthor taking over the LOD by shooting(killing?) Grodd saved the episode.

Superman's "...you have to eat it with a spoon. Why am I in Africa?" line made me laugh out loud.

Why do they cancel this shit long before they should do so? They end these shows ridiculously early, and yet every day it seems they have new episodes of fucking Ed, Edd and Eddy and goddamn Kids Next Door.

Do they ever replay the new episodes during the week or is it only shown on Saturday nights? I missed last night's episode.

Nope that's the one and only time you'll get to see it. But, they'll sure as hell rerun the Teen Titans.

Geez, remember when JL first started they would rerun the eps on Sunday. *sigh*

ALL of the Dini/Timm shows, whether its on Fox Kids, WB, or Cartoon Network, have gone out before their time.

Cartoon Network doesn't help matters by putting the show on in a RIDICULES time slot with no replays or repeats, and airing new shows months apart.

I guess it must cost too much.

You can get back alley bums to make 3 new episodes each of Squidbillies and 12 oz. Mouse for a bottle of hootch and a an ounce of crack.

If Boondocks' ratings hadn't been so fabulous it would be on at maybe 2 AM by now.

I'd think the addtional ad revenue from replays would help pay for the show. I guess they're thinking that limited showings will help future DVD sales, perhaps?

I don't know if Batman Beyond was any good, really, because outside of a few eps on CN and Return of the Joker, I didn't see much else of it.

Going by previous pricing schemes, I expect $20-$24 (depending on retailer) for the BB set, and $34.99ish for the JL set.

What did everyone think of the epsiode last night? I give it a 6 out of 10. Nothing great but it wasn't unwatchable either.

I thought it was a pretty weak episode overall. Alot of decent action, but the ending just killed it for me.

I enjoyed it. I thought the great action and funny dialogue more than made up for the silliness of the plot.

Yeah, I never thought I would see the Shaggy Man on JLU, even though we had seen Gen. Welling I never thought we were going to see Shaggy.
