BoboBrazil 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2005 "The following was posted on Jackie Gayda's official website located at JackieGayda.com. The site is down this morning as it's going under a re-design. I will be a part of a new television era of wrestling here in the states. The SPIKE TV network will begin to air Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling "TNA" , in the beginning of October. It will be weekly programming, airing on Saturday nights along with PPV action. This will be a new and exciting venture for me, be sure to tune in! (For more information on TNA, visit www.tnawrestling.com)"
Masked Man of Mystery 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2005 We can only hope, as Gayda's only real use outside of having "Diva" stuff for TNA is as her husband's manager
Carnival 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2005 They are setting up a women's division that is workrate heavy obviously. Now if they could just steal Hemme from WWE they'd be set.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2005 Short of putting the title on Jeff Jarrett, the dumbest thing TNA could do is build their own women's division. I pray to God that they don't go down that path. I am not opposed to the women as arm candy escorts or mouthpieces if they can talk, but no women's division, especially since the women on board now aren't very good in the ring. If Gayda coming on board leads to Haas coming along, I'm for it. Just keep her out of the ring.
Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2005 Yeah...I think _not_ having a women's division is one of the things that sets them apart from WWE in a positive way. I'm not against women's wrestling, but it's usually done so horribly in the US that it's completely pointless to try and do it.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2005 I'm willing to bet that they're picking up eye-candy because someone (be it executives or marketing or R&D) thinks that you need TnA to help sell pro-wrestling in general society. Thus, they're signing women that are at least quasi-famous in the wrestling world to appear on their shows. I don't think either Gail Kim or Jackie Gayda are being picked up to be real wrestlers.
