ChrisMWaters Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 OK, Smackdown's first hour is on WWE.com right now. The first match is MNM vs. LOD 2k5 for the titles. The US Title, Cage, and World title matches are on the show, from what I heard. Oh, and Melina is dressed like, IMO, Alanis Morrisette or someone like that.
ChrisMWaters Posted September 9, 2005 Author Report Posted September 9, 2005 Heidenreich did something interesting! Mercury and Nitro were trying to do a double backdrop on Heidenreich, Heidenreich grabbed them by the back of their heads, and slammed them fast first onto the canvas.
ChrisMWaters Posted September 9, 2005 Author Report Posted September 9, 2005 Another reason to watch the Smackdown on WWE.com stuff... MISTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH...KENNEDY............KENNEDY!
Guest Zarock Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 I skipped to the Ken Kennedy/Paul London match. Now I'm at the beginning of Birchill/2 Hotty. Good mic skills from Birchill btw.
ChrisMWaters Posted September 9, 2005 Author Report Posted September 9, 2005 Is it me, or does MISTAAAAAAAAAAAAH Kennedy's theme sound like it's sung by the same people who sang Big Boss Man's old face theme?
Brocklock Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 I really dug MNM/Fake LOD for some reason until the finish. Good formula tag team action.
Guest Zarock Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 I dug the promo for next week's RAW until they announced the Tomko & Angle/Cena handicap match. GODDAMMIT WWE, STOP MAKING CENA BATTLE HIS WAY THROUGH IMPOSSIBLE ODDS WITH THE DECK STACKED AGAINST HIM. If there's any way to make the #1 contender look less credible, I'd like to know it.
ChrisMWaters Posted September 9, 2005 Author Report Posted September 9, 2005 I like Regal on commentarry. They should have him replace King.
Guest Ransome Posted September 9, 2005 Report Posted September 9, 2005 I haven't seen anyone else mention this, but here in Australia, we now get both Smackdown (in its entirety) and Velocity a full day before they screen in the USA. Given that we usually got Raw and SD late (from late 2002-2003, we got Raw three days late and no SD at all) I'd say it's about time we get these shows early. Anyway, I've already seen Smackdown. I won't give out any spoilers, but they could have done much better given how much they hyped up their Friday Night debut.
haVoc Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 I can't get a feed. Anyone else having problems?
Fro Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 Burchill was real impressive even though he's highspotless. Really like him and Regal together. Showed he can talk a good game. Kennedy's backstage segment with Sharmell was great. That's the kind of stuff he's been doing in OVW (and shows he's more than just a one-trick pony). Otherwise, the rest is missable.
Spaceman Spiff Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 Man, Scotty has the shittiest punches in the company.
ChrisMWaters Posted September 10, 2005 Author Report Posted September 10, 2005 Man, Scotty has the shittiest punches in the company. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's not counting the divas, right? ...is it me, or did they just take the words out of Eddie's theme?
Spaceman Spiff Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 I actually think the Divas have better punches than Scotty.
Spaceman Spiff Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 Ha. "Rey is 7-0 against Eddie Guerrero."
ChrisMWaters Posted September 10, 2005 Author Report Posted September 10, 2005 They really need to bring back the iron bars cage. Either blue bars or black. ...hell, make it blue for Smackdown and black for Raw.
ChrisMWaters Posted September 10, 2005 Author Report Posted September 10, 2005 Ha. "Rey is 7-0 against Eddie Guerrero." <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Course, in WWE, IIRC he's actually 7-1...because Eddie beat him when Eddie was WWE Champion. But of course, I know the rule about WWE remembering stuff like that.
ChrisMWaters Posted September 10, 2005 Author Report Posted September 10, 2005 Here's a good question: Why, if Rey's leg was injured in the match, would he try CRAWLING out of the cage, and not use the damn door?
Downhome Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 Holy shit...I didn't expect that ending at all.
ChrisMWaters Posted September 10, 2005 Author Report Posted September 10, 2005 Holy shit...I didn't expect that ending at all. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> For curiousity sake, what did you expect for the ending?
Downhome Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 For curiousity sake, what did you expect for the ending? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't know, but just about anything other than him just pinning Rey clean. I honestly expected Rey to win again, or for Eddie to win by just leaving the cage. I can't believe they had him go back in and pin Rey also. It's almost like Eddie beat Rey twice in the same match. I'm just sorta shocked it happened on this show, where hardly anyone will see it.
ChrisMWaters Posted September 10, 2005 Author Report Posted September 10, 2005 ...an now announced, Taker/Orton next week at Smackdown.
ChrisMWaters Posted September 10, 2005 Author Report Posted September 10, 2005 ...they added lights for the Bullrope match. ...unique, I guess.
Kardo Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 They had the lights for the GAB 2004 bullrope match too.
Downhome Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 I actually like the lights. I could live without em, but I'm ok with em also.
Downhome Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 Oh lord, that bell shot was brutal.
ChrisMWaters Posted September 10, 2005 Author Report Posted September 10, 2005 They had the lights for the GAB 2004 bullrope match too. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ah. Never saw that one, so I didn't know.
ChrisMWaters Posted September 10, 2005 Author Report Posted September 10, 2005 Oh lord, that bell shot was brutal. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes...yes it was.
KingPK Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 Good "Ooh, that looked like a solid shot" brutal or bad "He missed him by half a foot" brutal?
