Couldn't they make more money going to higher volume venues. For the type of shows they usually put on in MSG they could attract triple the amount of MSG's capacity.

Unless it comes attached to the WrestleMania or Summer Slam name, wrestling fans aren't going to fill the domes. Business is down and they need to go to smaller venues.

WWE loves the Arrowhead Pond for some reason.

I dont know why that place kinda sucks (well maybe to me cuz It took us 2 hours to get there for a raw last year) and is rather small in person.

I like staples better for some reason. floor seats are more comfortable Ive come to find at any arena I have been to

but the first wrestling show I ever went to was an MSG houseshow 11/30/91 so that place holds a special feeling for me (well that and it is in my hometown area of NYC) despite me not being at a show there since 1992

wwe still holds some househows at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, NY so thats cool Its a fun place IIRC

actually there going to tape smackdown on suday october 30 at staples (due to taboo tuesday taking place that week) I'd like to go there if I havent moved by then. Are you planning on going Matt Young?

What if Vince did some outdoor events in New York? They used to have heavyweight boxing championship fights in Yankee Stadium. I think it'd be cool to have a Wrestlemania or Summerslam there.

I agree. It would be cool to see wrestlemania or any big show at Yankee stadium (and not only for the chance that some wrestler might got his head rammed into Babe Ruths monument)

or even Fenway so someone could ram his oopponent into the green monster

outdoor is cool, just as long as it doesnt rain. Thats why they would never do a show outdoors anymore

Yeah, I posted about that in "Comments Which Don't Warrant a Thread". If I can geta ride (don't have a car, and I missed the Supershow the night after Vengeance because my ride bailed on me) I am most certainly going to attend the show.

Actually, I can take the Metrolink there, it's just getting back home that's the problem. I'll figure something out.

They do many house shows at baseball stadiums during the summer.

The Boogeyman debuted at an outdoor house show. He made it to the ring, began to speak, and then it promptly began to rain like crazy and they had to call it all off.

That's God's version of X-Pac heat.

Okay, Let's go ahead and assume that WWE and MSG cease to have a relationship.

What will become WWE's new "home"?

You know, since the start of the "Attitude Era" the WWF/WWE has treated all its venues pretty much the same.

Except for whatever cheap pops/heat a wrestler is trying to garner with what team gear he/she wears or cuts a promo about, or if the person announced is from that city/state/country the programs are really generic looking. With the exception of MSG of course which is still referred as the "Home"

Wouldn't be surprised if they stopped referring to arenas as "homes" or "home away from home" if they had more shows in Boston/LA/ect

And the only other way locals get mentioned (except on top when they are saying where the broadcast is coming from or the aforementioned heat/pop attempts) is in distance to Stamford, CT in Boston, NYC, Providence and Hartford

yea matt I saw that hread after I posted in here. I don't have my license right now (am going to take the test soon actually) so too would need a ride. Usually my dad goes with me but by that date he may not be here (as I said before I am moving back to NY soon and he has to go ahead and get thing set up)

If I am still here in october (likely), I may go with my friend or if my neighbors (big fans-I usually go over their house to watch PPVS and such) decide to go maybe I'll tag along.

Hopefully all of us TSM members in the LA area can go and have a TSM section at staples lol

I saw on FOX 5 NY this morning that theres a plan to either remodel MSG or, more preferably, tear it down and build a newer more modern facility somewhere else to make room for a train station.

So, posing a question. If they tear MSG down and build a new one somewhere else, would you care about WWE not having shows there anymore?

I know it will be demolished, that's why WWE is having disputes with managment -- they want to still have shows at an arena that isn't expected to last very long. I'm thinking MSG management (ie, the owners) aren't going to let WWE run any more shows there, even before it IS demolished.

Essentially, WWE has to wait for the new arena, which is what these disputes are stemming from.

Considering that Garden V: "The Mega-Gardens explodes" prolly wouldn't be ready to go until at least late '07 or 2008, it prolly as most believe that someone inside Cablevision (the majority owners of MSG) shat in Vince's cereal. Remember Cablevision I believe still doesn't run 24/7 either on their service.

The current MSG is it's third incarnation. The McMahon family has been promoting shows there since the building that was MSG before this current one. So I'd guess there's still historical significance, but most people won't give a shit.

Losing MSG is like a blow pretty close to the crotch as far as WWE is concerned.

Thank you.

Who fucking cares if they do MSG again or not? I don't. Why exactly do they have to have a "home"? It's not like we are in the old days of the territories. This is really non-news.

I love seeing MSG PPV's for their fun little entrance-ways/set designs, notwithstanding WM XX.
