EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2005 Carlos Silva is out for the year, so let me point out that Silva's walk rate is the best in the majors since 1900, an incredible feat.

Francisco Liriano makes his first major league start on Wednesday in place of Johan Santana who has a blister on his finger.
Richard 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2005 The Spokane Indians (short season single A) just won the North West League championship. Came back from two games down to win the series 3-2. They went 37-39 in the regular season. Huzzah losing record winning the championship. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So their always hope
mike546 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2005 Yankees put Doug Waechter in his place, as hes out of the game without getting an out. Finally. Edit: Oh no. Here it comes.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2005 And why the heck couldn't Gavin Floyd do this at Scranton?
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2005 Incidently, I wrote up a short post about the Yankees/Devil Rays at NMB. Looking at the numbers, the Yankees have actually scored a run more a game against the Devil Rays, but allow 1.5 more per game.
mike546 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2005 It really has been the same game atleast 10 ten times. Yanks jump out to an early lead, then the hitting goes away. Rays slowly chip away at our lead before tieing it and going onto win.
Guest TheDon Report post Posted September 14, 2005 Well it is 10-2 now with the Yankees on top. Red Sox are down 5-1 and the Indians are down 2-0 against the A's. Wow Bernie just threw out Carl Crawford at second. WOWWWW.
Guest Fishyswa Report post Posted September 14, 2005 Jesus H Chroist, Bernie's diving in the outfield and throwing people out, the D-Rays actually seem a little confused by our pitcher, and Giambi is still....EN FUEGO!!!!! 13-2, bases full, 1 out and I can watch the rest of House knowing we've got it. Thank you Yankees.
mike546 0 Report post Posted September 14, 2005 Is their a record for amount of times with the bases loaded in one game for one team? The Yanks must have broken that record after tonight.

Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted September 14, 2005 ...and in other news...David Ortiz IS without question the best clutch hitter in baseball and is a no-brainer for Al MVP. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> A-Rod has a stronger case, IMO. He's been excellent on the field (well, watching the games it seems so), so for one he plays on the field everyday; and a tough position at that. He also has more HRs, higher slugging, higher OBP., runs, and average. I also think he's leading the league in game winning RBIs.
Guest TheDon Report post Posted September 14, 2005 Plus Ortiz is a DH while Arod plays 3b.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted September 14, 2005 Although if the season started a month later, Giambi would have an interesting case. Except for the RBIs though, but that had to do with him batting 6th most of the year.
Guest Fishyswa Report post Posted September 14, 2005 I've watched pretty much every game A-rod's played this year, and if Ortiz keeps what he's doing now up until the end of the season, I couldn't bring myself to vote against him. He's beastly at the moment.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted September 14, 2005 It's amazing. A-Rod's on a winning team and we're STILL looking for ways to fuck him over in the MVP voting.

I hate Cleveland now more than ever. But Boston lost so if they can hold this 17-2 lead the lead will be 2.5 in the east. Our luck the offense will die down after todays laugher. that tends to happen a lot.

The reason most Yankee fans are that way is because of all the hatred and negative talk we have to endure for being a fan. I try to be cool and stuff but I can only take so much. But thats sports for ya, I aint expecting any sympathy and nor should I.
Guest Fishyswa Report post Posted September 14, 2005 If Ortiz continues this pace he'll have 50+ HR's, around 150 RBI's, OBP over .400 and slugging over .600. Has anyone ever had a year like that and not been MVP? I can't stand the guy but it's hard to argue against that.

Guest Fishyswa Report post Posted September 14, 2005 Ok, for the record, I alone am not "yankee fans". Secondly, I never said Arod wasn't worthy, just that when the season was over Ortiz might be more deserving.

There's a ton of guys who have had seasons like that and not won the MVP. Although Ortiz over A-Rod is not as absurd as Andruw Jones winning the award. If Ed Wade trades Ryan Howard this offseason, I may have to take a baseball bat, drive over to CBP and take his knees out. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I assume you have a better plan then? Just how do we deal with Thome's contract AND keep Howard? I like Howard as much as anyone, but it may be in the best interests of the organization to trade him, especially now that his perceived value is so high. A SF columnist wrote the Giants should go head over heals to acquire him. Trading Howard could provide long-term solutions at third base or catcher.
