OAO Raw thread - 09/12/05

Recommended Posts

I think Masters gave Flair a bit too much offense and the finish was pretty bad, but their match was alright. Flair takes really harsh bumps once in a while. He got FLATTENED on the floor from that frigging sidewalk slam. Ridiculous.

Angle's suplex on Cena/Tomko was alright looking.

Matt Hardy needs to ask for his release. It would be in the best interest of himself, WWE and me.

Decent Raw.

Really? The first hour was full of DQ's aside from the tag match between show/matt and Edge/snitsky. Pretty random booking...what was the deal with bringing HBK out to the stage? Couldn't do the interview from the ring or was there no space for a RAW Backdrop backstage?

Well this was a decent Raw....

Decent Raw.

No, it wasn't. It wasn't even close. Stop lying to yourselves and everyone else. You know goddamn well this show was trash. It was just filler. Not only for the PPV but for Spike TV as well. WWE are just spinning their wheels until they debut on USA again. Trish showing up actually surprised me because I thought they'd hold off on that too. I guess they wanted her to help pop the PPV buyrate a little bit.

Calling this a "Decent Raw" is just another way of saying you're going to let WWE spoon feed you more shit. You're anticipating it with open mouths and wet tongues.

Flair Vs. Masters? Please. It went way too long, wasn't a good match and ended with a run-in. The diva crap? Yay, Trish is back. End the segment please. ANOTHER handicap main event? No, stop. Just fucking stop. Hell, we even got WCW-style production errors. Coming back from a commercial break MID-PROMO? C'mon.

If the crowd sounded hot, it was. The whole E floor section and I take responsibility for that; we were by far the liveliest bunch of the crowd and barely got on camera for either show!

The air-conditioning/blowing fan in the Alltel is very loud and that's what you were hearing.

It was a very average Raw for a PPV lead in even though it blew my mind live (the seats and atmosphere really sold me though despite the show's offering).

I'm happy about it though. It gave me a full day yesterday, because...(flashback music)

...Eric Bischoff says I am cute and I believe him...Batista hugged me tight (

"because friends gotta hug"

) and I kick myself today because he's the only one I didn't get a picture with when in close contact...and Edge told me he didn't really hate the internet all along...and I yelled out "You are hot!" in the parking lot to Chris Masters and Carlito (who was with him) said "same to you" even though I wasn't talking to him (I appreciate it though and showed him some love anyway)...and Trish told me when driving in (my girl rolled down the window just to talk to us; I love Trish!) that she was going to kick some ass that evening and made me happy...and I hugged Hurricane twice yesterday because he smells good...and later I even got to see Michael Cole stumbling around drunk at 2:30 am...and I gave all the refs I saw hugs because they don't get enough love...and the ass-kicker? John Cena signed my water bill and laughed when I told him I knew about his alter ego Dr. Von Hymenbender.

War supershows! I wish I coulda met Ken Kennedy. :(

Kennedy.

Alright, that's not an argument. So, you might as well not even post. That's like saying "if you don't like it, why watch." I hate to have a big head, but if you liked this show, then you probably shouldn't be posting on The SMART MARKS because no Smart Mark should've liked this filler show. Even if you're a fan of the current storylines (heaven forbid) then you still can't be a fan of repeated handicap matches, run-ins and matches becoming impromptu tag affairs. Even if you like the production of WWE, you can't condone them fucking up and having the home audience miss half of a promo...especially the week before a PPV. Even if you like Cade/Murdoch (which, I can't see why anyone does) you have to admit that match was sub-fucking-par.

You can't blame everything on people having different opinions. "Well, we'll have to agree to disagree." That's fucking bullshit and it's a goddamn copout. This show fucking sucked and you know it.

wait a minute, Chris Masters is 22 years old.  THAT fucking guy is barely two years older than me.  He looked 27-28 for sure.  Damn, hes like Rene Dupree who is what 21 and just stacked.  I really wish I had a tv to watch this match on

Im a month older than masters geez and he has a wwe contract and superpush. THATS MINE!!!!!!

Remember Rene dupree debuted when he was barely 18 or 19

cade and murdoch already have new theme music.

anyone else waiting for trish to hit ashley as well? damn

Let me put it this way regarding Raw. If you knew going in this was a placeholder show before they go back to USA and didn't expect much, you could have some fun with this show. If you expected greatness, this show was horrid.

Interesting someone brought up Goldberg because I thought about his WWE tenure the other day. Think about this: Goldberg beat down The Rock, Chris Jericho, HHH in their lone singles match, likely Kane as well though I'm hazy on it, and the notorious Lesnar win. That's pretty mindblowing, isn't it? The weird thing is that I assumed he was merely brought in to job to Austin in a match, and be built up a bit and then job out to Lesnar on his way out.

You know what really bugged me about Raw? Cena.

No, it isn't Cena himself. It's how his feuds are booked. Who have his opponents been since he won the title, one-on-one? JBL, Jericho, and Angle, right? How did they build the Cena/JBL feud? Why, John Cena faced the Basham Brothers in a handicap match! How did they build Cena/Jericho? Cena faced Jericho and Carlito in a handicap match! How do they now build Cena/Angle? Yep, you guessed it...and handicap match with Tomko thrown in there! Oh, and he won all three handicap matches too. It's just BRUTAL how similar the builds are and it made his challengers, well, Jericho and Angle anyways, like chumps when they can't beat him with another guy. And Angle will look like a chump too if he doesn't beat Cena.

But don't you see, that's their plan. You THINK, that just because the same thing that happened with Jericho is happening to Angle, that the end-results will be the same too... and that's when they switch it up and SHOCK~! Angle wins. And you are left dumbfounded, thinking to yourself "But but but but but but but... wuh wuh wuh wuh wuh wuh". It's BRILLIANT!
