I was just going to post if there was anyone other than me that's not even remotely interested in this...I never liked nor cared for Jake Roberts outside of his fued with Savage, but that was only because I like Savage pre-WCW...

This is one of those DVD's where the selling point is directly on the feature itself. Jake never had any work-rate classics, and while he was a master of the promo and ring presence, it didn't always translate in his work itself.

The fact they didn't include his legendary storyline with Savage (Jake @ his demonic best) is more proof they aren't really focused on creating the best over-all dvd product and in the case of Roberts, just made this dvd @ the hopes it'll test the waters for feature releases from names like him who were big in the 80's and see if there's a market for it.

No training the Warrior?

No funeral parlor where he traps Taker's hand in the casket and keeps nailing him with chairshots? Hell, no WM8 match with Taker?

What, no Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal?  Sure that was cheesy but the angle with Sting on WCW was really good leading up to that.

This DVD looks pretty crappy.

That match is on there - its the coal miners match from Havoc 92.

This DVD is supposed to be a 3 disc set I believe, so there has to be more than this, one would think. I heard one disc was a full documentary and the other two is nothing but matches and highlights. Maybe not though. Can't tell if the cover shot says 2 disc or 3 disc...

If this is really all they are putting on here, thats too bad as I was excited about this before, but now kind of "eh" about it. I'll still pick it up though.

If they are just not including Savage material very much just because of the heat between Savage and Vince, that is just plain childish. Wasnt some certain Savage material eliminated from the 80s Superstars DVD too?

Hell, no WM8 match with Taker?

That has no reason to be on the DVD. Jake was squashed, plain and simple. It's not very good either. Now not including anything from the Savage feud.. that's criminal. Although, Silvervision missed some of the matches from the Taker DVD (Bret match from ONO), so it's possible that other stuff will be on there.

Great, they decided to make the DVD cover as Homoerotic as possible didn't they? Would anyone else feel a bit uncomfortable bringing this to the video counter to buy?

I dont see the big deal at all. Whats so homoerotic about it?

Im sure the savage feud will be covered in the documentary part. and theres got to be more extras and/or easter eggs on this (if you take the past as an example)

why the austin and lawler matches? I know they want to put something on here from his 96 comeback, but why not a match he actually won? I guess Hunter didnt want the match where Jake beat him clean in the 96 KOTR qulaifiers to be on here :)

the cover is a bit gay I suppose but if the cashier looked at you funny, then you could just give him the DDT lol

thers always online ordering though

Jake and Rick Rude has some great matches and an awesome feud throughout most of 1988...I'm very happy to see their match from the 10/88 MSG house show on here.

I'll be getting this set.

Half naked hairy man wrapped in a snake coupled with that look on his face (which is probably drunken stupor, but that's beside the point)....maybe it's just me.

You forgot to mention the Moustache he stole from the cop in the Village People.

I'm still willing to get this. The matches don't seem to bad, something to watch and I wanna see the interview. I'm hoping during the interview they talk about the snake bite angle and the whole thing with Warrior and Savage and the Undertaker and maybe show footage of the stuff.

I'm grabbing it, since Jake was one of my favorites in 80's WWF. Right behind Rowdy Roddy.

Speaking of which...RELEASE A PIPER DVD! His book was an interesting read about the old-school territories, and is entertaining when he begins ranting about how stupid some of the shit he did was. Also, I wanna see the Piper/Hart match from WM8 (I believe that was the show, where Piper put his distant cousin Bret over for the IC title), as well as the match with I believe Bad News Brown where he painted half of his body black and was doing disco dances for half of it.

If only WWE would put together a set like this for Macho Man. That's a longshot though as he wasn't even featured on the "Greatest Wrestling Stars of the 80's" DVD. Fucking shit pisses me off.
