Gert T 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2005 No, I meant most likely he would request the title shot at the beginning of the show (Raw) and lose later that night. I like Edge on Raw, but I wouldn't mind seeing him go to SD! to change things up. That's what is kind of frustrating about the MITB thing, they have a lot of different avenues they could explore with it. (Especially since the World Title is on SD! now), but to me, it almost seems they'll just go with the routine Raw main event route, hope not though.
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2005 I really do think that the rubber match will be at Taboo Tuesday as a Last Man Standing (Fans choice **winkwink**), rather than this cage match being the blow off. LOTC, I can't take credit for the idea, but I can expand on it. I think that there is no way Matt's winning the blow off. Just call it a hunch. But I say that Edge wins at Taboo Tuesday and the next Raw, boast how he beat Matt (of course, it'll be by devious means because heels simply can't win cleanly it seems with even-steven booking). This will be the Raw he attacks Lita (just a Edgucution or something), saying that the one thing this feud made him realize is what trouble a piece of ass can cause. After that, he can move to Smackdown and be a real hated heel while also being credible. Maybe Matt and Lita can kiss and makeup, but I frankly don't care. The point is Edge can move to SD because the only heel after this month's Eddie feud is Orton, and they're obviously saving that match for Wrestlemania. Plus, besides Eddie, he'll be an actual heel to boo. He'll be better than Eddie even, since Eddie will always have his fans.
Guest Coffey Report post Posted September 18, 2005 If WWE really wanted to get "interactive" they could let the fans vote on the stipulations themselves before voting on a winner of said stipulations. That way, Last Man Standing would have to make the ballot and then win the ballot to become the match. As far as Unforgiven goes, meh.
Guest Ransome Report post Posted September 18, 2005 Cena vs Angle Winner: Cena Carlito vs Flair Winner: Carlito Shawn Michaels vs Chris Masters Winner: Shawn Michaels Edge vs Matt Hardy Winner: Edge Big Show vs Snitsky Winner: Big Show Hurricane & Rosey vs Cade & Murdoch Winners: Cade & Murdoch Trish & Ashley vs Torrie & Victoria Winners: Trish & Ashley Shelton Benjamin vs Kerwin White Winner: Shelton Benjamin Most of the brand-only pay-per-views since their inception in 2003 have been useless filler shows, and the card for Unforgiven 2005 is particularly uninteresting, even considering the lowered standard for these shows. I really can't believe that anyone would throw their money away on such a weak, poorly planned pay-per-view card.

cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2005 At least this show has Angle/Cena and Matt/Edge in a cage....GAB this year didn't have jack shit on it aside from seeing Hassan get his ass kicked. Anyway, predictions: WWE Title Match John Cena .VS. Kurt Angle. Winner: I'm on record as saying Angle will refuse to break the Anklelock and get DQed...and everyone will be pissed. "Steel Cage" Match Matt Hardy V1 .VS. Edge (with Lita). Winner: Matt. He needs to get something in this feud. WWE Intercontinental Title Match Carlito Carribean Cool .VS. Ric Flair. Winner: Flair. This is the WTF? moment of the night. I think even WWE knows Carlito is a fucking joke with any sort of title, and Flair will just transition it to whomever before Taboo Tuesday. Singles Match Shawn Michaels .VS. "The Masterpiece" Chris Masters. Winner: Michaels. I've said it before, do you seriously think Michaels is going to job to Hogan and then job to a talentless, heatless rookie? Shawn to reverse the Masterlock a la Bret at S. Series 96. Singles Match The Big Show .VS. Gene Snitsky. Winner: The Big Show. Snitsky winning serves no purpose I can see. Women's Tag Match Trish Stratus & Ashley .VS. Victoria & Torrie Wilson (with Candice Michelle). Winners: Trish Stratus & Ashley. No point jobbing Trish out in her first match back to a non wrestling chick and a heatless Vicky. It also gives Ashley her first win. World Tag Team Titles Match Hurricane & Rosey .VS. Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch. Winners: Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch. Need new champs and they might bury the Hurricane gimmick due to the real life disaster. Singles Match Kerwin White .VS. Shelton Benjamin. Winner: Kerwin White. Don't ask me why but I think they'll feel the need to give Chavo some sort of PPV win under this new gimmick to justify it.
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2005 Actually, maybe she'll get fired after her run as a heel. We have our PUNK RAWKER~! face chick now in Ashley, and Ashley is quite a bit hotter than Lita...

Dr. Zaius 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2005 Normally, I'd argue that shouldn't be a factor, but Lita does look older than her 30 years. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Too bad she doesn't act like it. I'm sorry, that was unfair, given that the general tendency of people in the wrestling business to resort to juvenile behavior, singling her out was uncalled for. True, but uncalled for. (I suspect the reason Batista got over so big earlier this year is because he was, at the time, the only worker on the roster who acted like a mature adult. Something that was proptly flushed once he began doing backstage skits with Eric Bischoff.)
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2005 Why isn't Edge/Matt a HIAC?? I mean, fuck, they've been using the word "hell" and saying things like "I'm going to take you to hell", and the theme of the match is "no one can escape", and they just make it a CAGE match? It's akin to: Edge: Ya, so what are you gonna do Hardy? You can't stop me on my quest to move up the ladder of the WWE. Matt: Oh, I will stop you from moving up the LADDER, Edge. Edge: You think you can throw me off the LADDER, Matt? Matt: Oh yeah Edge, I'll throw you off, I'll throw you on, I will even throw the ladder on you! Edge: You wish you could do all those things with a ladder Matt! Matt: I can do all those things with a ladder, Edge! Edge: Ladder! Matt: LADDER! Edge: LAAADEEEERR!!! Matt: Alright, that's it Edge, you and ME, in a LUMBERJACK MATCH!

RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2005 You'd think they'd use a ladder match, as well, given their respective histories. You could book it for the 6th year anniversary of their No Mercy match.
goldengreek 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2005 This might be the worst lineup (card) i have seen for a pay-per view in a long ass time. show/snitsky , hbk/masters, flair/carlito ?????? Give me a break!!! They want us to pay for this crap????
goldengreek 0 Report post Posted September 18, 2005 For the most part, each PPV this year had something to make me go "mmm, that's appealing" and some were enough to hook me into buying the PPV... This show just may be the most unappealing show i've seen in quite some time. John Cena Vs Angle is hardly a fresh match and while they have a couple good matches before, it's not going to be much different and the likely presence of Bischoff only stands to make it worst. John Cena over Kurt Angle @ 26:21. ***1/2. HBK/Masters. This is the real main event of the ppv and don't fool yourself into thinking otherwise because the last month has been the HBK/Masters showcase while Cena has been the mid-carder. It's still up in the air what exactly occurs here, They clearly want to push Masters despite his complete inability to get over yet It's Shawn here coming off a lost to Hogan. Shawn can never lose his heat but that doesn't mean he should job left and right...Shawn has nothing to gain from a win but nothing to lose from a lost. Masters has nothing to gain because he's not getting over and losing to Shawn is hardly a negative thing but he's doomed either way. Why waste a job on Masters? HBK @ 16:17. ** Flair/Carlito's only promise was the promo wars and that was a complete bust as well. The match will likely be hot because Flair can draw great babyface heat and Carlito is decent enough in being a dick heel. The match will blow ass but perhaps a semi-hot crowd could motivate these two and create the image that this match meant something. Flair doesn't need the title and would set the title back even further in credibility (if that's possible). Which said, Flair is probably going over here for no apparent reason. Carlito over Flair @ 10:02. *3/4 TBS/Snitsky? Pass. Snitsky via DQ over TBS @ 4:35 Matt Hardy/Edge? Not convinced this is the blowoff to the most disapointing angle in years, It'll be another brawl just like the over-rated brawl they had on raw a few weeks ago and It'll be nothing special. I'd expect them to juice to beef up the "intensity". They would be wise to watch Blanchard/Magnum before the match and witness how to work a hate match inside the cage... Double Knockout @ 14:59. ***1/4 Superheroes and Cade/Murdoch? How sad is this division? Cade/Murdoch @ 8:59. *1/2 Shelton Benjamin Vs Kerwin White? Cheers for Benjamin getting a spot on PPV again, jeers for this match. Could be a decent match if Chavwin has his working boots. However, I predict this will be a lame comedy match resulting in a DQ finish or cheap heel win. Benjamin @ 7:17. **1/4 Trish & Ashley vs. Victoria & Torrie? What great quality this will be. Trish/Victoria have good chemistry together and that might save this match but not by much. Trish/Ashley @ 6:55. * <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Un-apealing... understatement of the year! You could book it for the 6th year anniversary of their No Mercy match. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> In case you haven't noticed Rudo, the only "history" between these two now is that Edge was Matt's friend and he fucked Lita. Never mind the tag team history that cemented both of them as WWE mainstays. And I'm not even saying it to be funny. They just won't mention it because it was too long ago. Hell, they never even mentioned that Edge and Christian were brothers back when both of them were teaming together on Raw this year. Why would they mention this?
