Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2005 Head Cases only lasted 2 episodes <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, but it didn't even qualify for "very good." It was more than watchable, but I didn't blink when I learned it had been canceled.

Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2005 Yeah, Herman's Head...but that wasn't from the 2000s. That's what the thread's about.

Guest Damn You Helmsley Report post Posted September 25, 2005 Futurama started in 1999. Initially I was stubbornly anti the show for no particular reason, though possibly because this was about the time The Simpsons was becoming unwatchable. I was the last person to find out that it was actually quite good.
Guest Fishyswa Report post Posted September 25, 2005 "Yeah, Herman's Head...but that wasn't from the 2000s. That's what the thread's about." I know, you just can't have a discussion about TV shows that shouldn't of been cancelled without bringing up Herman's Head. It wouldn't be right....
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2005 Is Samarui Jack really cancelled? If so, did they ever wrap the whole storyline up? I damn well hope so.

DerangedHermit 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2005 Futurama started in 1999. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sure, it started in 1999, but it was cancelled in 2003.
Guest Damn You Helmsley Report post Posted September 25, 2005 I thought we were talking about shows that began and were cancelled this decade. My bad.
EricMM 0 Report post Posted September 25, 2005 No, the have not yet wrapped up the Samurai Jack storyline. Hopefully they will someday make a movie.
Guest MikeSC Report post Posted September 25, 2005 1) Fuck Sports Night. I want a comedy to actually be funny once in a while and it failed, in spectacular fashion, at that. I've seen few more overrated shows than that snoozefest. I danced at the word of its cancellation. 2) Greg the Bunny definitely. 3) "The Tick" animated series was gone before 2000, right? Hell, the live action show was never, ever given a chance and I know that was post-2000. Heck, not much else. Network TV has been shitty for a long while now, so I don't really miss anything when it's gone anymore.
Guest JMA Report post Posted September 25, 2005 Megas XLR X-Men: Evolution(though I think it started in 99, if I'm not mistaken) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I still lament the loss of those two shows. Toonami has a great line-up now, but it would be even better if Megas XLR was on there as well.

AlwaysPissedOff 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2005 Also, I don't think Megas XLR and Samurai Jack got CANCELLED... they just got yanked to make room for the new shows CN seems to be getting in on a daily basis these days. Give it some time, I'm sure we'll be seeing new episodes of Jack and Megas eventually. Everything I've read concerning Megas basically implied that there would be no new episodes ever. I've seen few more overrated shows than that snoozefest. I danced at the word of its cancellation. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Jesus, THANK YOU. For awhile Sports Night was good but that show just went into a downward spiral with all that relationship bullshit and needed to die. And for the last time, Greg the Bunny isn't cancelled. If you are going to call Greg the Bunny cancelled, then you might as well include Family Guy and Stargate SG1 in this discussion. Both shows were "cancelled" by their networks only to be picked up (in SG1 case, by a new one) and continue running. Greg is on IFC, it's still alive therefore it really doesn't fit into this "cancelled before it's time" discussion anymore. Oh and I add "The Jeff Foxworthy Show"....the first version with Antia Barone as Jeff's wife. Not the NBC version which makes me want to shove a fork into my eye even WITH Captain Harris from Police Academy running around.

I've seen few more overrated shows than that snoozefest. I danced at the word of its cancellation I remember when "Family Guy" made a joke about that show not being funny. I actually laughed and agreed with it. I hated that show. Too smart for it's own good, and incredibly boring. In my defense, I don't watch IFC because it's nothing but movies about gay cowboys eating pudding. I remember last Halloween, when they had an Dario Argento marathon, followed by an Mario Bava marathon. I felt like the happiest man on Earth. Also, they had a cool 80's horror films marathon this August (They showed the original "Humanoids From the Deep"), and had a short documentary about the making of "Land of the Dead". Other than that, I'd have to agree with you, it's not that good. Sure, they'll sometimes show something cool (Delecatesen (sic), The Vanishing), but it's usually pretentious or boring art house fair and short films that suck. That out of the way, what's so bad about pudding? Finally, I also really miss "Megas XLR". That was an awesome show, without one bad episode. Any show that has guest apperences from Bruce Campbel, a robot called The R.E.G.I.S., and a Voltron spoof who come out to the theme from the A-Team is great in my book.
