Epic Reine 0 Report post Posted September 20, 2005 When you get screwed over by the CPU in a sports game or can't seem to beat that level in an adventure game, what do you do when a game pisses you off? For me, I just either shout "FUCK!" really loud or just slam down my controller. It actually helps blow off steam.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2005 I remember one time I was playing a racing game back in 1992 and the computer totally cheated and drove a truck in the middle of the track. Wait, that wasn't me, that was that damn Bob cheating the User out of a victory on an episode of ReBoot. I often watched that show and imagined how pissed I'd be if the computer pulled those stunts with me. I tend to hit my mattress really hard when I am losing a big match in a wrestling game by means I do not care for.

AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2005 Now: crack my neck, pop in an easier game and come back to the other game later. Then: spiked a few controllers and cursed a few times.

devo 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2005 Crack my fingers and neck to start. Move on to cursing loudly at the game, then eventually turn it off. I used to smash controllers, but I stopped doing that after breaking two N64 controllers within a week.

Guest TheDon Report post Posted September 21, 2005 No wonder why they make controllers so expensive. They know must people usually break theres and have to buy a new one.
Da Maintenance Man 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2005 Curse a bit & throw the game case on the floor real hard. I remember recently when I was playin San Andreas & that Supply Lines mission was PISSING ME OFF to no end. Just couldn't beat it. I just turned the shit off, & slammed the case on the ground, which put a hole around the bottom of it. To this day though, I've finally beaten it though

Guest T®ITEC Report post Posted September 21, 2005 Controller. Wall. Hard. Or I just drop it on the ground in disbelief and calmly go turn off the game. Then it's time for some hot controller on wall action. Game cases thrown around, whatever. The small Xbox controllers are very durable, I've got to say. The big MadCatz ones bust in three seconds, but they do that even if you don't get insanely angry the way I do. Nanman stage in DW4, oh christ nothing made me more mad than that shit. It's the second cheapest thing in the whole game, but at least the most cheap thing is very straightforward (and optional).
Skywarp! 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2005 When I was little, playing Atari 2600, I used to yank out the cartridges and throw them across the room. Take that, Donkey Kong, Jr. Just don't be this guy. (Left side ad banner is not work safe) "I lagged out??!!"
spman 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2005 I completely destroyed 2 N64 controllers playing WWF Attitude back in the day
Ravenbomb 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2005 I was playing WM2000, facing the Undertaker in a cage match. After having to restart several times because it's FUCKING IMPOSSIBLE to beat the Undertaker in a cage match in that game, I started hitting the controller against the mattress. I got REALLY pissed when my guy actually stopped moving alltogether. As it turns out, I jerked the controller plug out of the system.
Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2005 WWF Attitude made me want to destroy things too. I typically slam my fist down on a cushion, table, whatever. Then after a few more irritating tries, I ignore the game for months on end. I haven't thrown or slammed a controller down since the NES days, as much as I was tempted to. I just fear messing something up.
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2005 Add me to the list of controller abusers. I've gone through *three* PS2 controllers over the past few years. I've learned to channel my anger into something easier. DW5 or a random Smackdown! game is usually pretty good when you just want to go into a game and absolutely destroy someone (or in the case of Dynasty Warriors, an entire army single-handedly). Papacita 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2005 I remember me and my friends group-stomping my NES when we couldn't get a code to work on Turtles 2. Good times. Nowadays I just cuss a lot. Then again, I cuss a lot when I'm winning too, so...
Guest T®ITEC Report post Posted September 21, 2005 DW5 is nice in that I have yet to be stuck between an elephant/an elephant/a wall, and/or just get my ass handed to me unfairly because the game has fucked up AI. I've got to say that Samurai Warriors made me furious every other time I played it because of the AI. My controller was fine until then and now the B button sticks. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted September 21, 2005 Masturbate, smoke a cigarette, weed, or all three. Obviously I'd stop playing the game first for a bit, but yeah. And I wouldn't do the first around other people, but I don't think I've played video games with other people (at least offline) in years, so that's rather irrelevant. Dobbs 3K 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2005 I usually flip off the TV if I'm pissed. No controller throwing though. If I'm doing really bad I usually just turn off the system and go do something else.
ragingfear79 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2005 Before i used to smash my controllers against the floors untill i went through 3 ps1 controllers in one weekm now i just cus, try it one more time and then turn it off

Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2005 It depends. There were times where ESPN NFL 2K5 used to make me made enough to throw my controller... the passing game was so hit and miss it wasn;t funny. I think the last game I got that mad to where I threw my controller was Forza Motorsport. Usually I realize that I am in control and if things are going so badly for me, I will at the very least reset the game and try again. If I am doing worse, I just won't play the game for a week or two, and come back to it with a fresh perspective. Though I have to admit I am getting in the bad habit of starting a game, getting to a point where I get frustrated, leaving it alone, then going out and buying another game. I think I have at least a dozen games across the three systems that I have stopped playing and have not gone back to.

jwpeer 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2005 I second VX. I take weed-smoking breaks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I get pretty pissed sometimes, it's almost always sports games too for some reason. (Though I'veignored Romance of the Three Kingdoms X for the past 3 months ever since a power outage lost me 6 hours of china conquering progress) NFL2k5 has definitely gotten me really angry...the worst is when I'm winning by like 40 points, everything is goin great, my qb is 19/22, my playcalling is diverse, everything is dynamic, there's now ay they should stop me...and all of a sudden EVERYTHING STOPS WORKING. Oh does that piss me off. Heheh. That's when you just KNOW something fishy is going on. Oh well
