What the topic says. Tell us what your favorite and least favorite wrestling belts are. Doesn't matter what promotion/s and what era.

I think big goldie will always be my favorite belt, and I mean the BIG goldie, not that smaller version Batista is sporting...I don't like the current IC belt compared to the older version...

another good WWE Title belt was the big round one that, I believe, was first given to Rock, replacing the Smoking Skull belt...the non-spinner WWE Title belt isn't too shabby either...I was never a fan of the winged eagle belt while big goldie was around...

I think your reffering to the Attitude Era WWE title, I think Austin was the first one to hold it, it was given to him after WM14. But i could be wrong.

Yeah, Austin was the first one to hold that belt.

you are correct

Austin was the first to have it, but his version had blue leather and the old WWF logo. When The Rock got it at SS it was the 100% Attitude version.

The belt you're referring to was actually first presented to Stone Cold, the night after WM14 to replace the Winged-Eagle (which as you can see at the post-WM press conference, was heavily damaged with bars broken from the sides of the center plate). I believe all the IC and Tag belts were also somewhat redesigned the night after the PPV as well (The IC belt moreso than the Tag Titles). IIRC, the Smoking Skull belt came along in the Summer of that year because Austin didn't want to carry Vince's "corporate" belt.

Looks like a few other people got to this before I did.

yeah I remember now...Austin came out, looked at the winged eagle in disgust and discarded it in favor of the new one...thanks for the reminder...

If I remember correctly; Austin just threw the old Winged Eagle belt down to the mat, and took the Attitude version belt.

I'm not necessarily blaming Austin, since I know it was his gimmick and character, but I never understood why Vince would go for that; letting Austin chuck down a memorable and legendary belt, such as the Winged Eagle. A belt that was made famous by Hogan, Taker, Savage, Bret Hart, and Michaels; among others.

Obviously the NWA/WCW/WWE World title belt that Flair first brought in.

Also, if anyone remembers the old Mid-South run by Bill Watts...their main title was the North American championship...a huge one that they said was about 30 pounds.

Two of my favorites are WCW's big gold belt as well as the current non-Cena WWE championship. I think Smackdown had some silver tag team straps that I liked as well around 2003 or something.

I never liked Cenas spinning titles. With that being said I thought his US title belt was ok if it wouldnt have had the spinning plate. It looked different from previous belts.

That is what maked the TNA X-division title work as well. Not a favorite of mine but its cool and personal with that big red X on it.

Favorites:

1. ECW World Tag Team titles (the ones with the buzzsaw design)

2. WWF Attitude belt

3. WCW World Tag Team titles

4. TNA X-Division title

5. NECW Heavyweight title

Least:

1. WWE Cruiserweight title

2. WWE Spinner (Cena's)

3. WWE US Heavyweight title

4. WCW Hardcore title

5. NWA World Heavyweight title (TNA could at least chock up some cash to get a sharp-looking belt made, though the one they use does have the history behind it)

I really like AJPW's Triple Crown. Not really for the design, just because the three belts make it seem important as hell, which it is.

Also the Attitude Era World Title is easily the best belt WWE's ever had. Possibly the best looking belt in wrestling history.

I like the winged eagle (ass opposed to the wingless eagle?) belt best. Also, the Headbangers' Tag Team Champions of the Universe belts

I'm glad someone else remembers the headbanger's WWF Tag Team Championship of the Universe. I thought it was pretty funny when they actually feuded with the Oddities over them, and the belts actually switched hands a couple times.

Another classy looking belt was Chris Kanyon's short lived "WCW Hollywood Heavyweight Championship". It was the version of the WCW World Title that was used in the movie, Ready 2 Rumble. Only differences between the 2 was that Kanyon's belt had silver plates instead of gold. Sure it wasn't an official belt, and just a prop for his Champagne gimmick, but it looked extremely nice.
