I had to check this out after I read about the Source giving it 5 mics in the upcoming mag. IMO, its about a 4 mic'r at least. Apparently though, Benzino cut down Little Brother's mic rating for the Minstrel Show because they didn't want to have a 5 mic album and a 4 1/2 album in the same mag. But that bullshit aside, this is a VERY good album from Kim. Hopefully people won't have been so turned off by that trash she has relased in the last few years (although Labella was kinda hot) and go pick this up. Black Lushus 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2005 I like her flow more than other female rappers...most female rappers just don't sound right, i don't really know how to describe it, but the way she flows (Missy isn't so bad either) sounds just right...doesn't hurt that she's easy on the eyes as well... But they seemed to have been actual musicians that ended up using racism as a gimmick rather than racists that picked up instruments and pretended to be a band. Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2005 Hm... Blue Eyed Devils, maybe. It's real stripped down and lo fi, like it was recorded in a garage, which is a lot of the appeal to me. Leaving the hatecore world, they kind of remind me of GG Allin. They're also one of the more outlandisly offensive acts, which I admit to getting a kick out of. They've got shirts even I wouldn't wear, and I'll wear anything if it's funny to me. Yeah, Skrewdriver tends to be one of the most praised of the scene, from what I see. GG I've heard of, though, so that gives a good point of reference. If Skrewdriver could have remained non-racist (they started off as a Stones cover band, and played good old fashioned Oi) they'd be among my favorite bands. I was always looking for that good female MC, but instead we got "lick me from my pussy to my asshole" for 4-5 albums. None of that bullshit here(well...one of that bullshit here). Just a hot album.
