A few questions

That's something we'll need to sort out. Right now it's all about picking the best option for the champion, what with Hoff MIA. Whether we do the title switch there or on an HD and have a different match be the title match needs to be discussed as well.

If we sort it out so every active writer has at least a seperate match to work on, then we should have enough to put on a decent showing. In others words, try to avoid putting four active writers on one tag match like DD. And, if possible, try to have active writers do something with characters of non-active writers, like Alf is doing with CSI.

 

What I have planned:

The Parka vs. Christian Wright (Parka, maybe KC helps)

Women's Division Match (KC)

Tag Title Match (Zack, maybe KC helps)- Not sure who if anyone you have planned Zack, but it'd make sense if we used two characters not being written for. So maybe have CWM and Some Guy or The GPX vs. Zack and Rodez, with some sort of stip natch.

 

Somebody needs to go over Hoff, unless he makes a miraculous return.

Tony I assume will be doing something tag divisioney.

SJ will have something. Maybe with Eski, although it'd be more productive if we get two matches from two guys than one from two.

Alf will have something.

PK defending the X-Title?

PRL?

NGA with an Axel shoot-fight?

Didn't NGA say something about CCB coming back soon?

Then, maybe someone pulling double duty (or like me, triple duty)...

I kind of feel that currently SJ is moving on from Tony/DB, though we can always revisist that feud.

At this point it'll be the Love Doctors vs. Los Diablos de Feugo for the HI-YAH tag titles, as well as some sort of confrontation between the Bruisers and Militia. Not sure about plans for Black T. Any ideas Eski? Ever since the Originals/Upstarts feud started it's been a week to week thing.

 

I can understand the concern over the lack of matches, but at least it's happening on our second-level PPVs and not our Elite 4 (AP, AM, GAB, AS). If we go through with plans for "November Sweeps", an entire HD or entire month of shows booked by different OAOASTers it could result in a spike of PPV matches. Especially now that the active part of the roster are all Mods.

What about making the World Title match at the PPV a multi-man (Four Way?) in order to make the end result less obvious. With Hoff being a lame duck champion at this point, it might be nice to throw a curveball out there, and by writing a four way for the World Title, that's pretty much guaranteed to take up an hour of "real" pay per view time.

If we go with that, could Dan Black be one of the challengers? He's never main evented a PPV before!

 

A thought - if we needed extra matches on the PPV, the 3 spaces to face Hoff for the title could be earned in qualifying matches earlier in the show. Although would mean a lot more writing, obviously.

 

Otherwise...maybe Black vs CWM, Brannigan vs PRL perhaps, two matches I don't think we've had before.

Hi! SJ's been clamoring for a shot at the title. If Black T is in the match, makes alot of sense for him to be in it.

 

Plus, I think it adds the appropriate element to the Upstarts/Originals feud.

 

Feel free to shoot this down, but let's say Cal makes it a fatal fourway and announces 3 matches to determine who is in it against Hodd. We can do two one week and the other the next

 

I'll suggest further. Week1 has Black/PRL and SJ/Rodez? Week2 has Tony/PK

Something like that. This sets up three matches and plays off storylines.

 

We can play up Black T working together to put Hodd and SJ at a disadvantage. Heck, we can even have the 'Champ doesnt have to be pinned to lose' giving Hoff something when he comes back.

 

For the upstarts/Originals angle, I would consider having SJ win the belt, in heelish fashion, setting up a reason for the originals to FINALLY band together. 2 months down the road (is that November?) SJ drops the belt to an Original as they start to get the upper hand, leading to a blowoff of the angle around AnglePalooza (where say PK wins the battle royal and goes on to face whoever beat SJ at Anglemania

 

As to who would beat SJ, I would like to suggest Dan Black. I don't think he has held the title yet, and Zack is busy with a tag team and Tony is busy writing his tag team stuff.

 

Anyways, that's just my suggestions. Zack, I know this is your angle, so let me know anything I can do to help it be told well. I'm going to continue to build SJ's wanting a title shot unless anyone objects to it.

 

PS. I figure SJ losing the title gets him kicked out of the upstarts. I thought about parodying the poor DDP angle after that.

 

Anyways, that's just my two cents.

I just saw Popick's edit.

 

What I would do is I would say the Stephen Joseph character is the best choice for a new champion right now, because the way the angle can be furthered is that he becomes "typical" Popick after winning, proclaiming his championship status at every turn, dubbing himself the leader of this brave new world, yadda yadda yadda. He'll wind up making enemies of The Upstarts, who keep reminding him that he's not the one calling the shots in The Upstarts, but Popick states that he's the one with the belt, so he can do what he wants. This sounds more like them getting turned face, but we'll play it that Popick does well with the title, has some close call defenses, refuses cheap wins, etc. It'll basically be his own ego, but his championship reign will see him grow less cheap-tactic heel and more in your face, head on. That way when The Upstarts can him, it will be seen as Popick "getting in the way of the ultimate goal". I do still have my ideas on who it will be revealed was behind this the whole time, but I'm not letting the cat out of the bag publicly yet.

 

I would say SJ wins, and we build to Dan Black winning at Climax, that way the year ends with Dan Black holding the belt, and it allows for the final stages of the feud between the Originals and Upstarts to get moving towards Anglemania.

- PFL, last I heard, is going to chip in for the November as show as we're doing a 5 on 5, Women's Division Survivor Series match. Subject to change, natch.

For the 4way title match, I figure Calvin should say its being made to make Hoff fulfill title defences as he's been absent, and the guys getting the qualifying matches are those who have been in the company a long time without getting a shot at the top - excepting Tony, of course, but that could be worked around.

November Reign poses a good question. I thought of when SJ gets the belt that Malibu, knowing how he works, targets him immediately, but Popick ducks him, refusing to allow title shots or feeding into Zack's challenges because he doesn't want Zack "crowding his spotlight". Having the GPX be his main "front line" backups works, which means stretching the series out over two PPV's would be fine.

 

Once Popick wins the belt, I'd have him do a series of title matches where he graces "potential headliners" a shot at the belt. This would range from some bums to OAOVW rookies to guys like James Blonde perhaps? (SJ let me know what you're thinking of these scenarios).

 

"Patty" talks to me all the time, and said if we get in a bind he'd come back with Alix. I had asked if he'd bring back Northstar, but he said that he wanted to keep that character "killed off" since he was destroyed by my heel self last year.

 

Adam did say Ken was coming back with K-Money.

Actually, I was thinking that instead of qualifiers, Cal could bring Black T into his office and tell them about a match he's booked them in. They'll think it's a tag title shot, a grudge match with GPX, anything...until he says it's a match for the title. Tony and Dan will start to have reservations, and Calvin stipulates that if he were Black T they should take the opportunity, as he's giving them a title shot and a chance to get revenge on SJ. Weave the stories together.

Zack, I like the qualifiers for this reason. It gives some storyline important to the 4-way, because each match (aside from Tony/PK) is Original/Outkast

 

Dan/PRL : PRL wants revenge, but Dan gets the win.

SJ/Rodez : SJ hates Zack, so this gives him a chance to take out Zack's partner for GPX

Tony/PK : Wasn't PK going to turn heel? Well PK gets a chance again but fails.

For what it's worth, my character (Tony Brannigan) has never received a one on one rematch since losing the World Title. Maybe we could play that up somewhere. Perhaps refusing to go along with any tournament or 4 Way until it's a "take it or leave" deal.

As far as the title vs title, it definitely sounds like a good idea, but I mentioned before I'd like to still have the HL when I start my angle I'm planning, presumably after AMV. I didn't know what booking plans you had for it or what.
