Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2005 Corey Patterson and Jose Macias are the Cubs' 1-2 hitters today. Phillies fans, I am so sorry.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2005 Just from the first two innings, it's clear that Oswalt's on his game while the Cubs aren't really too keen on being locked in today. Phillies are in trouble.
Guest TheDon Report post Posted October 2, 2005 Are the cubbies going to make a game out of this??? I would love to watch a one game playoff tommorow. Indians down 3-0 to the White Sox top of the fifth.
Guest Brian Report post Posted October 2, 2005 When the Tribe's offense is on, they're a scarier team than Boston given their pitching.
the max 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2005 If Cleveland and Boston lose, Cleveland goes to Boston for a one game playoff, right?
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2005 Yeah, but at this point, it doesn't look like either the Indians or Cubs are going to force any Monday baseball.
Guest TheDon Report post Posted October 2, 2005 If Cleveland and Boston lose, Cleveland goes to Boston for a one game playoff, right? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If Cleveland loses they are out of the Playoffs and Boston wins the wild card. Boston has a one game lead on Cleveland for the wild card and have a magic number of 1. Texas is leading the Angels 4-1. With an Angels lose the Yankees get home field for the first round of the playoffs.
therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2005 Even if they do get shut out of the playoffs, the Phillies have made great strides this past month and should be set for next year provided they can keep this team together and hopefully get Thome moved... Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2005 Cubs walk to get to Oswalt, who then drives in a run with an infield single. Man.
Guest TheDon Report post Posted October 2, 2005 3-2 now for the Astros after Chicago just failed a bunt attempt. Cleveland is trailing 3-1.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2005 The game would be tied if Maddux had laid down the bunt correctly.
Guest Smues Report post Posted October 2, 2005 Cubs tie the game in the 6th. Philies still lead Washington in the 7th.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2005 Ah, the power of multiple hits in an inning.

Guest TheDon Report post Posted October 2, 2005 It is 2-0 Red Sox as Cleveland tries to Rally in the bottom of the 8th with the leadoff runner on first. Make it 3-0 now for Boston.

Guest TheDon Report post Posted October 2, 2005 It is 4-4 now Cubs/Astros after the clubs took the lead and blew it.
Guest Smues Report post Posted October 2, 2005 And the Cubs give up the lead just like that.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2005 I'd question not pulling Maddux for a PH when they had two runners in scoring position with two outs, but then I remember who we've got on our bench and our pen.

Dogbert 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2005 And if we have the same playoff teams as in 2004 (with CWS in Minny's place), why's that so bad? The 2004 playoffs were one of the greatest I've seen since I started watching the sport.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted October 2, 2005 6-0 Boston after a Manny home run. Not a good day for Cleveland.
