Guest TheDon Report post Posted September 27, 2005 Once again the Yankees offense fails to score. IN the top of the first they had 1st and 2nd with no outs and then 1st and 3rc with 1 out and they couldn't score a run. OOO Boy.

mike546 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2005 I actually agree with The Don on this one. Its a testiment to how much talent the Yankees have, but they hit so bad with RISP, yet they still somehow win games. It gets so bad at times that the Yankees usually have more runners left on base than actual hits.

CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2005 Tigers win!! TIGERS WIN!! A walk-off HR for Granderson, and the Sox lead is down to two games.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2005 Mets have a chance to finish the season with their heads held high if nothing else. With a three-game series against the Phillies, who they've been pretty good against this year, and a four-game homestand against the Rockies, the Mets' chance of finishing the year with a winning record (which is in itself a vast improvement over last year) is pretty good. There's lots of AL Series I'll be keeping my eye on this week. I still think the Indians have a decent shot at winning the Central; they just gotta play well against the D'Rays and hope Detroit can take at least one from Chicago. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You're funny. It won't happen, but you're funny. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, at least they didn't keep us in suspense as to whether you'd be right or not.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2005 Surprising. Nice to see my team makes an ass out of me. I won't speak anymore about them til they are either eliminated or win it all. Hell I'll take it a step further. They can kiss my ass. I'm tired of this shit. 19 years of being a White Sox fan... not worth it anymore. I don't even like baseball as much as I do football. They don't need a fan like me anyways. Good luck to all the real fans out there.

Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2005 But they're the Yankees! They're supposed to plate every runner who gets into scoring position!
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2005 I've (almost) never seen so much bitching about a team that has a 16-7 record in September. It wasn't this bad when they stunk.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2005 And for more fun, the Yankees are second in the league in OPS in September, and second in Close and Late situations. But of course they aren't CLUTCH because they don't get hits EVERY time they have baserunners.

Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2005 And Giambi makes it 6-0. But it took them 3 2/3 innings to score the runs, so it'll still be like a loss. Or something.

UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2005 Braves choked a lead to the Rockies, wow. Rollins 31 straight, takes first pitch over wall. Team definately came out with a lot of energy after a big delay. Good to see.
Guest TheDon Report post Posted September 27, 2005 Angels are up 2-0 over the A's. Season is pretty much over for the A's if they lose.

EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2005 What did AJ say? What is his main beef? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I’ve got one more start here, and that’s all that matters. It’s depressing around here. There’s nothing positive around here. There’s nothing positive on the staff now. You give up one home run, and it’s a funeral. ... A positive pat on the back is better than anything. I haven’t seen a pat on the back since April.

EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2005 I didn't mean to imply that they are all bad pitchers. I just find it interesting that the Mets have now used four pitchers, ALL asian natives. That has got to be a first.
devo 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2005 What is that supposed to mean? Seo is a NY fan fave. Doesn't mean he was a particularly good pitcher before this year. His record was 14-22 and he had a combined ERA of 4.74 over the past two years. Seo pitching as well as he has this year is a pleasant surprise to say the least.
