I haven't watched the last couple of seasons of The Simpsons.

 

I even defended the show back when people first started saying it was declining in quality; it wasn't easy cutting the cord on a show I used to love so.

If watching American Dad warrants a hand being chopped off, then watching Family Guy warrants a stick of dynamite being shoved up your ass. American Dad is so good it goes from being so good it isn't funny all the way back around to being good and funny.

Fox cut the 2nd season of AD short by two episodes, so they could get a head's up on showing American Dad. That, plus the Family Guy factor, means it must be the worst show on television. Maybe in the entire history of the medium.

I like Family Guy, but American Dad is the exact same formula and it's the stupidest crap I've ever seen. Which shows that Family Guy was luck. Plus all the conservative bashing. I give a shit about politics, but it gets old after a few seconds.

Oh, if you wanna get serious about talking about it.

 

It flows a lot more coherently than Family Guy does. I liked the style of humor until it got overkilled. American Dad returns to a more plot-based show. Plus I always like stuff that makes important and deadly people look like idiots. Seeing the CIA populated with elementary schoolers is awesome. That and I'll rarely find any kind of politically-geared show boring, whether it be a real one or satire. Being a news addict like me makes American Dad much funnier. Obviously, not everyone else is.

I did love That's My Bush, which was not political commentary as many people assumed.

If AD gets the Axe, I could actually really see it being picked up by another network/HBO/someone else. I won best comedy, directing and writing Emmies last year, and it's the funniest show to have ever existed for chrissakes.

never understood the fascination with family guy which warrants these straight to dvd releases. is there anyone remotely likeable in that show? anyone funny? please don't say the dad. or the son. or any of the girls, because face it, girls are never funny. stewie has about a 50% chance of saying something funny. and the dog is the dog. i don't get it. compare that to arrested developments roster of funny. seriously. and want to know who the funniest is on that show? george michael. fuck, do i love that kid. but really, there isn't anyone unfunny on that show. for the reason alone, wouldn't ad take the cake? in my world it does, and thats really all that counts. give me spongebob fucking squarepants over family guy. i really hate family guy. my opinion counts as i've deemed myself the funniest & most sophisticated & irreverant poster in tsm history. i slay myself.
