People who want bad world series just to spite Fox have no right to be a "Fan".

If you are pissed that your team failed to make the post-season, don't wish for a shitty world series just to spite FOX and Bud Selig. An embarassingly horrible WS doesn't do Baseball any good.

I want a bad World Series so I don't have to watch it, and don't have to listen to Tim McCarver as a result.

OK, not really. But it's close.

I bet if we pool our money and offer an out-of-shape loser like Lawrence Phillips (or Keith Tkachuk) enough, they'd probably do it.

So you want Angels-Astros to spite the media? How is that not corner-of-the-universe?

I wasn't aware that "west of the Mississippi River" was "corner of the universe". It just appears that the media seems to think that if it's not from the EAST COAST, it doesn't matter.

St. Louis is west of the Mississippi River, the Cardinals get recognition, your theory holds no water.

I don't believe I even mentioned the Cardinals. Being an Astros fan I'm naturally inclined to hope they make it to the WS over St. Louis. However, in order to make my argument clearer to you, I'll say this:

"Anyone except the Braves or Yankees. I hate the teams, their fans are almost all obnoxious whiners, and the media goes down on them more than a $5 hooker!"

There, happy?

The media praises the Braves because they deserve it.

3/5 of their rotation was injured, and they had to start rookie after rookie to fill in all the injury holes.

They deserve all the praise they get.

I easily dont want to see a shitty team like San Diego win a series, let alone get to the Big Dance.

I want Houston v Boston, becasue I think they are the two teams suited best for a World Series 7 Gamer.

And I like the Bo Soxs.

Braves: Chokers and hope they get flamed agian for choking by the media.

ST Louis: Far worse Lineup than last year. Wont be able to hit vs thE Big Three on Houston.

Yanks: Their "nice finds" will prOve why they are 29 year old Minor League losers and throwaways. Chacon and Small will be useless, Mussina will suck as always. Johnson and Wang wont be enough.

Whietsoxs: A 15 Game lead to 2 games in a month in a half? No leadership, see ya.

Angels: Very very good. I just cant trust that staff past Colon vs Big Game Teams like Yanks or later the Soxs..

Not really, no. Considering their rosters the past two years, the fact that they won the division again is quite remarkable.

Yeah, damn those choking Braves.  They only pushed a loaded Astros team to the brink last year with a pitching staff of baling wire and duct tape.

Damn the Braves and their impeccable farm system that sustains their NL East streak seemingly indefinitely. Die Francoeur, McCann, Boyer, and friends.

Has anyone else noticed the Astros have the worst offense in the Playoffs?

Yes, but we have a god awful bullpen outside of Farnsworth. I'm sure the offense will suddenly come alive.

Berkman has been great, Ensberg had a good year, Tavares causes problems when he gets on base, Jason Lane had an underrated year, and Biggio is a playoff vet. Whatever they get from Bagwell is gravy. Nothing spectacular about their offense, but I think, with their pitching, it's enough to get it done in close games.

Has anyone else noticed the Braves have the second worst offense in the playoffs?

And the worst bullpen too!

I don't know what was wrong with Farnsworth in Chicago, but he's been a godsend in Atlanta.

I haven't noticed, because the Braves scored more runs this year than the Los Angeles Angels, Chicago White Sox, Houston Astros and San Diego Padres.

Also, the Red Sox have a worse bullpen.

Media pressure, crowd pressure, nightlife, y'know, the usual. Stuff that Atlanta doesn't have, 'cept the strip clubs. A vacuum, Chicago is not.

My bad, the Braves are worse in the NL.

Their batting average was only .266, which is pretty low.

It is better than league average, 6th in the National League, and 2nd among the four playoff teams. They also rank 3rd in the league in slugging percentage, 3rd in OPS, and they hit in a good pitchers' park.

Seriously, have you even looked at the Braves' hitting statistics?

No, and looking at it, their stats don't seem too bad.

I've just watched too many Braves games where they seemed offensively challenged. I think swapping in Langerhans/Francoeur for Jordan/Mondesi really helped their offence.

At one point during the season Atlanta actually lead the NL in batting average I believe. It was brief, but I remember it happening. The hitting isn't what I'm worried about as much as the bullpen. And just the fact that with Houstin's pitching 1 run from their hitting could be enough.

And damn everybody for getting my hopes up and picking Atlanta to win. Damn you all!
