Guest Smues Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 My picks from the other thread. Houstin over Atlanta in 3 St. Louis over San Diego in 4 Boston over Chicago in 4 New York over Anahiem in 4 Everything old is new again. I obviously want Atlanta to win it all, but I'd be fine with St. Louis or San Diego as well. Boston would be ok too only because it would drive Yankee fans insane.
Guest Smues Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 I predict Angels vs. Red Sox in the ALCS, and Cardinals vs. Braves in the NLCS. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Those are exactly the matchups I'm rooting for. Which of course means the CS round won't look anything like that.
bob_barron Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 Astros in 4 Cards in 3 Sox in 4 Angels in 5. I wish MLB would release the times already, so I know which Braves games I have to miss.
Dogbert Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 ATL def. HOU in 5 STL def. SD in 3 BOS def. CWS in 5 LAA def. NYY in 5
JustJoe2k5 Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 I'd love to see the Angels get past the Yankees, just so I don't have to see them in the ALCS again. And a loss in the divisional series could finally show Steinbrenner that it is time for a change.
the max Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 Atlanta d. Houston in 4 St Louis d. San Diego in 5 Boston d. Chicago in 5 Anaheim d. New York in 5
sfaJack Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 My "dream" results: Braves over Astros Padres over Cardinals White Sox over Red Sox Angels over Yankees My actual predictions: Astros over Braves Cardinals over Padres White Sox over Red Sox Yankess over Angels
Guest Smues Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 I wish MLB would release the times already, so I know which Braves games I have to miss. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Amen If the Angels make it to the world series again will the 9th inning of the last game be all commercials again? Or will that honor be saved for the White Sox?
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 Nice to see Chicago be written off. That's all fine though. Makes it more fun.
Guest Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 Moved from the other thread..... Atlanta over Houston in 4 St. Louis over San Diego in 4 Angels over Yankees in 4 Red Sox over White Sox in 5 Cardinals-Red Sox World Series, with the Cards taking it in 6.
Guest Smues Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 Note to Bob: When we beat the Astros in 3 in 2001 not a single person on this board picked Atlanta to win. This year it seems like a lot of people are. We're doomed.
Fartsauce Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 Angels over Yankees in 4 Red Sox over White Sox in 3 Cardinals over Padres in 4 Astros over Braves in 5 Angels over Red Sox in 6 Cardinals over Astros in 6 Cardinals over Angels in 6
The Czech Republic Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 Double-choke theory says Angels-White Sox, Padres-Braves From there, no outcome is desirable, so double-choke theory can't be applied
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 Czech, who's the dudes in your avatar and sig?
bob_barron Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 Note to Bob: When we beat the Astros in 3 in 2001 not a single person on this board picked Atlanta to win. This year it seems like a lot of people are. We're doomed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That series was awesome. I remember everyone at ESPN, the papers and all my friends didn't give the Braves a game in that series. And then they made Houston their personal bitch. I didn't even care that the D-Backs destroyed them. As I've said, I want the Braves to win but Pettite/Clemens/Oswalt sounds unbeatable in a short series. Especially Pettite. Except for that one World Series game where he tipped his pitches, the guy is very reliable. If Fox got Angels-Chi Sox, I think they would pre-empt it with episodes of House and The OC.
The Czech Republic Posted October 2, 2005 Report Posted October 2, 2005 The ratings for Angels-White Sox will make Fox execs go "hey, Arrested Development is doin' pretty good!"
Guest Smues Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 FOX has ruined post season baseball for me forever. I can't watch playoff baseball anymore without thinking "HIS FATHER IS THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY!
Slayer Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 FOX has ruined post season baseball for me forever. I can't watch playoff baseball anymore without thinking "HIS FATHER IS THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY! Can these women survive in a cold heartless man's world? Unfortunately House broke the "failed shows promo'd during the WS" trend

I can't watch playoff baseball anymore without thinking "HIS FATHER IS THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY! Can these women survive in a cold heartless man's world? Unfortunately House broke the "failed shows promo'd during the WS" trend <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh god Girl's Club. It seems to me there was one more hugely hyped during the post season show that tanked besides those two but it's not coming into my head. And don't worry about House, I'm sure whatever they hype this year will be terrible.
The Czech Republic Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 Well we know it won't be anything Jason Bateman is doing, no no Though considering the track record of Fox postseason promoverkill, which makes Glass Joe from Mike Tyson's Punch-Out go "damn," that's probably for the best.
Slayer Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 I don't remember Fox promoting any new shows during the Subway or NY-Arizona series Girls Club was the first one I remember Fox going overboard for (only to pull the plug by Thanksgiving)
The Czech Republic Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 Will Brandon Arroyo be starting or relieving? hehehe
Guest Smues Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 What lasted longer? Skin or Girl's Club? I think Skin was yanked after two or three episodes but I don't remember how long Girl's Club lasted. Oh and what I was probably thinking of was The Bortherhood of Pollid New Hampshire. Not a FOX show, but like Girl's Club it was another David E. Kelly show that bombed big time so my brain got confused.
Precious Roy Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 Red Sox in 5 Yankees in 4 Astros in 5 Cardinals in 3 Yankees in 7 Astros in 6 Yankees in 7

The Czech Republic Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 Is this the fucking Weekend Of Self-Quotation or what? Jesus tapdancing Christ. Photo-enhanced Radiohead in the sig, unknown in the av, he was walking with Hilary Duff and making a dumb face so I cropped it
