Guest Rrrsh Report post Posted October 8, 2005 Oil and the Nucks tonight. Man, even before the new rules we had wicked games. I cant wait till tonite.
Prophet of Mike Zagurski 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2005 I was watching Detroit @ St. Louis and I am sick of seeing so many penalties. There were three Red Wings in the box at the same time because of stupid calls. We were allowed more physical contact in high school roller hockey compared this game. They need to lighten up with these rules because it is interfering with the flow of the game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You are sick of the penelties AFTER TWO GAMES. God, let the season develop before you start bitching about the rules. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I understand that the new rules are supposed to improve the flow of the game, not stop the action every five seconds. I'm glad hockey is back.
JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2005 Cam Ward was getting alot of press around here before the lockout last season and prior to the beginning of this season. Everyone within the Hurricanes organization feels he will be the future of the team at goalie. There was also a nice backstory where Cam Ward finished second to Sidney Crosby as player of the year in a Canadian league a few years ago, last night Ward got a chance for a little revenge by denying him in the shootout. JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2005 Carolina has really found them a future star at goalie. I also think Eric Staal has a bright future, like the idea of giving him the role as leader early in his career.
Prophet of Mike Zagurski 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2005 Yeah, Cam Ward is doing a fine job in Carolina. Too bad Gerber is on my fantasy team. Sidney Crosby scored his 1st NHL goal.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2005 Ottawa 5, Buffalo 0 The Good: Geez, what wasn't good? Havlat had four shorthanded breakaways and scored a goal, Redden had three points, Neil had a great game, Heatley scored twice, and Hasek was just outstanding in a 35-save shutout. The Bad: Penalties, still with the penalties. At one point, the Sens had six penalties vs. one for Buffalo. Gotta cut down on those. Record: 2-0-0 (2nd in Northeast) Next game: Monday, vs. Toronto
smh810 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2005 John Grahame outduels Roberto Luongo tonight as the Lightning win 2-1. What was most impressive was Grahame doing his best Hasek (at his peak) imprssion at the end of the game when the Panthers had a 5 on 3. STL gets on the board with his first goal (the game winner)
fairtoflair7 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2005 Rick Dipietro and the Islanders took out Cam Ward, Eric Staal and the Canes tonight. Solid game for the Rick with 40+saves.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2005 Marc-Andre Fleury isn't even the BACKUP in Pittsburgh. What the hell happened to him?
the max 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2005 I think they AHL'ed him. http://tsn.ca/nhl/teams/news_story/?ID=138...me=nhl-penguins
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2005 Well, that's a good move. I just hope they didn't kill his confidence last season.
the max 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2005 Yeah, they probably did. I don't see the point in keeping him holed up in the AHL, especially with the offense that they have.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2005 Habs beat Toronto, though Toronto got two soft goals on Theodore to make the game closer than it was.
Prophet of Mike Zagurski 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2005 Paul Kariya beat the Ducks in a shootout in Nashville. I should be mad but I called it before it happened
the max 0 Report post Posted October 9, 2005 http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=139247&hubname= Pens recalled M-A Fleury after Thibault goes on IR.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2005 Reason Fleury was AHL'd this year is because they wanted him playing every night as opposed to just starting one in ten. Of course, he was the best goalie in the preseason (by far) in GAA and save %, but getting Thibault, you're not gonna pay that much for a backup goalie unless MAFleury is Hasek 2.0. the max 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2005 Panthers @ Isles Rangers @ Crapitals Pens @ Sabres Leafs @ Sens Bruins @ Bolts Nucks @ Wings Flames @ Avs Oil @ Ducks Leafs @ Sens will probably be the game of the night, I expect Ottawa to take it with Sundin out right now. If I didn't have stupid work, I'd probably go to the Bruins @ Bolts game (Tampa isn't too far). Vancouver v. Detroit should be a very good game. Everything else is kind of...there. Guest I miss Test. Report post Posted October 10, 2005 Living in Buffalo...where for whatever reason we decide to spend a lot less than the salary cap... Regier said that all others teams are paying way too much for FA's, not realizing it will ruin them in the future with the salary cap. Meh, I don't know. Darcy doesn't get the benefit of the doubt from me.
Fartsauce 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2005 Damn, last place in the Rotto league already. The crappy draft didnt help much and neither have some of the injuries. Time to possibly make some trades.

nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2005 I'm doing pretty piss-poor in all of my leagues so far ... way too early to panic, though. If I'm still doing so poorly in a month, I'll worry. BTW, Max, you didn't happen to catch that B's game on Saturday, did you? One of the most fun Bruins games I've seen in years. The never-ending parade to the box was annoying, and watching the Bruins D get over-matched AGAIN was a bit troubling ... but man, their top line was just clicking. There was one PP that the B's kept control for so long ... Thornton must have set up 4 or 5 one timers that just missed the net.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2005 The Flames/Avs game looks good, and probably high scoring.

I listened to most of it on the Sirius radio (me and the girlfriend were fishing) and it sounds to me that they need size on the blueline more than anything right now. Gill is Gill, we've been over that enough. They need to get someone with some good size. I'm extremely happy that they won, coming from behind. Toivonen didn't sound like he played particularly well, but an offensive team like the Pens will do that. Afternoon games weren't anything offensive. The Crapitals beat the Rangers 3-2 on Ovechkin's first. The Panthers beat the Isles 3-1, adding an empty netter from Rostislav Olesz as his first career NHL goal. treble 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2005 The Leafs need to sign a closer to hold some leads, here. And stop putting Jason Allison in fucking shootouts. Might as well just let Belfour take a stab at it.

The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2005 Well...Buffalo has done exaclty what I expected (losing in Ottawa and winning the other 3). I hate Pittsburgh...and I loathe Lemieux...so seeing him go -3 tonight put a huge smile on my face.
