Ravenbomb Posted October 4, 2005 Report Posted October 4, 2005 Count Duckula~! I never much cared for the series, but I still think it's awesome that they're releasing it.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 Anyone not copping Alfred Hitchcock Presents isn't worth knowing.
Guest El Satanico Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 I'd get it, but it's so expensive. I wasn't even able to convince myself to buy the second Kubrick collection, and I'm a bigger fan of Kubrick than Hitch.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 I was referring to the TV series, which I'd probably get regardless of price. Unfortunately, they're using DVD 18s again and to the surprise of no one, there are already issues being reported. The 15-disc film set from Hitch would be an ideal purchase during the DDD sale in November.
Guest El Satanico Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 And now I notice that you did say Presents
Slayer Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 Count Duckula~! Oh yeah That's going on the shelf next to DangerMouse

cabbageboy Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 I am going to pick up the Warriors DVD for my dad's birthday. Oh and I already ordered the Val Lewton box set as well. I wouldn't say I'm as into Lewton as I am old Universal stuff (it's a bit dry and literate for my taste) but I really like some of the titles in it like The Seventh Victim, The Body Snatcher, Leopard Man, etc.
BlackFlagg Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 I had my Lewton collection on pre-order for months and it looks like DDD didn't get enough to fill all the pre-orders because it's already on back order and I didn't get mine shipped out
Nighthawk Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 Hitchcock Presents wasn't really that good, I don't think. I could guess the ending to pretty much all of them a few minutes in. As I may have mentioned before, Twilight Zone is about a third great, a third good, and a third bad, but even still, I like it better. I'm still buying Presents, though.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 Didn't we have a mini-discussion on how good TZ and AHP really was a year or two back, Milky?
areacode212 Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 That Hitchcock masterpiece collection looks really good, but will it contain all of the extras from the individual releases? (Tippi Hedren's screen tests, etc..)
cabbageboy Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 BlackFlagg, I got an email from amazon that my Lewton collection has now shipped....have you tried them? I'd also bet Best Buy would have it since they carry box sets, not sure what they'd want for it.

Nighthawk Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 Didn't we have a mini-discussion on how good TZ and AHP really was a year or two back, Milky? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I think we did. In any case, they both beat Outer Limits.
ChrisMWaters Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 I'm worried... How the hell did Santa Claus Conquers The Martians get a DVD that was non MSTified?
Guest El Satanico Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 That movie doesn't even need MST. In fact, I think MST even missed some of the joke material.
