Enigma 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2005 Jim Ross will more than likely be removed from Monday Night RAW's announce team soon. He will be put in to work exclusively on WWE.Com video features. A new play-by-play man will be hired to form a new RAW announce team. Three seperate sources have confirmed it and no one has denied it yet, but the idea is that it's still not 100% confirmed. credit: PWInsider Elite Hotline

Guest TheDon Report post Posted October 4, 2005 They should get rid of the King while they are at it. I was cringing while he was mentioning puppies during the Bra and Panties match. The guy acts like it is still 1999.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2005 I definatly wouldn't mind a change. Coach has been doing a pretty good job so far.
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2005 ...so, does this mean Coach will be turning into a straight-up Play by Play guy or no? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That would be a disaster of epic proportions. Coach is bad. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with JR being ousted as Raw announcer because Raw desperately needs any and all changes it can get. However, I envisioned the changes to be positive ones and Coach as play by play guy is not good. BTW, can JR take Lawler with him? I hate that son of a bitch more than Coach. Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2005 Oh dear God... JR is the only guy on that announcing team worth anything. I know he doesn't put as much effort into it as he used to, but he's still leagues better than those other two bozos. I'd rather have no commentary than a Coach/Lawler/Random Company Shill team. Maybe they should just put Cole & Tazz on both shows.
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2005 Is there a normal PWInsider Hotline? I don't feel good enough for the ELITE version. ... unless that's what they call the normal one. In that case, I laugh.
Guest Fook_Theta Report post Posted October 5, 2005 Lawler has made me laugh once or twice in the last few weeks which is a better record for most of last year. He definitely should be regulated to some other duty. JR leaving is also good as his shtick is beyond entertaining and Coach has made him look like a fool. Seems like the best bet would be to bump Tazz to Raw with either Matthews or Cole taking the other spot. If it was up to me I would make some major recommendations on the Matthews/Romero relationship with Matthews doing a poor man's Hennan with more Tenay interesting sidenote commentary, while Romero maintains the corporate line with enough edge to shut Matthews up when appropriate. It would work extremely well, but it would take time to get mainly Romero familar with a personality that can compete with Matthews without looking stupid. I hate that son of a bitch more than Coach. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> While JR probably needs to go so they can change things up, there is nobody else on the broadcast team that can match Ross when he is at his best and can really get across a major angle like he can. For the most part, Josh Matthews or Tazz are better than Ross, but for the big moments, JR smokes everyone else they have, which you can put down to Kevin Dunn wanting good looking guys who don't know anything over average looking guys who know what they are doing. And they have to get rid of Lawler. That borderline pedophile has never added anything to commentary in his life.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2005 Even in the mid 90s, Johnny Polo & Ted Dibiase were better colour guys.
Guest FromBeyondTheGrave Report post Posted October 5, 2005 Josh Matthews, Tazz, & Coach are the only entertaining WWE announcers.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2005 I think JR and Tazz would be a great combination, because without Jerry Lawler to drag him down. JR is noticably better.

Guest I miss Test. Report post Posted October 5, 2005 I'm guessing Coach and they might possibly move Grisham up. I don't care... I've learned to ignore WWE announcers.
Brocklock 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2005 They got the likes of Ted Dibiase, Arn Anderson, Foley, and several others under contract, so maybe they should replace Ross. Anything would be better than Todd "MAIN EVENT!!!!" Grisham and The Coach.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2005 Foley shouldn't be on commentary except as short-term deal to lead to an angle for his next match.
haVoc 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2005 What about Jericho? They can go the Mr. Perfect route and have someone pull him out of "retirement" after a while.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2005 How Jericho for a while? They can go the Mr. Perfect route and have someone pull him out of "retirement" after a while. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He got fired from Raw, so they'd have to have Eric Bischoff explain why Jericho is now a commentator. Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2005 Positive: JR may finally be out of the booth. This is LONG overdue. Negative: We'll probably get another announcer/GM feud to make it happen. I don't mind Coach. Last we saw him doing so, he was still an awful PBP guy, but as a color man, he's much better. If we could keep him on that side of things, I wouldn't mind him sticking around. I fear they'll move Cole over to Raw with Matthews moving up to SD, since Cole wouldn't have Tazz to better him and Cole/Lawler/Coach would be really grating on the ears. Where's Scott Hudson now, or is he still with TNA? Though I doubt he'd want to come back either way.
Hunter's Torn Quad 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2005 Coach shouldn't be on commentary at all. He's too busy either trying to get himself over or get out what Vince is telling him to say on the headset to get the product over. Coach adds nothing but an incentive to turn off.
