bob_barron Posted October 7, 2005 Report Posted October 7, 2005 They've only lost one Game 2 in divisional series history, the sweep against St. Louis.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 8, 2005 Author Report Posted October 8, 2005 The NLDS continues today, live from the only dry place left in America!
Guest Smues Posted October 8, 2005 Report Posted October 8, 2005 I have to leave tonight at 5. Seeing that the game started at 4:30 I figured I'd see an inning or two. But no I forgot it was on FOX which means it doesn't start at 4:30, the shitty pre-game starts at 4:30. It's sad to say but I wish it was on ESPN because at least if they said 4:30 they'd mean 4:30. Fucking FOX. Oh well I guess it's better I don't see any of the game before I left. If the Braves fell behind early I'd be mad all night, and if they took a lead then when I get home I found out they blew it that'd suck too. I'll just enjoy this moment where Atlanta is tied in the series 1-1. I'm predicting a Houstin win, Oswalt is too strong, but go Braves!
CanadianChris Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 Steve Lyons says that the Braves bullpen has been their Achilles heel with such amazement. Almost like he hasn't watched the Braves for the last 15 years.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 Well, it was a nice game while it lasted. We're getting dangerously close to the final four teams including the Cards, White Sox, and Astros.
CanadianChris Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 Why not? Last year's was terrific.
Slayer Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 My Reds fandom gives me a deep-seeded (sports) hatred of both teams, plus the dread of knowing one is guaranteed to go to the WS
devo Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 You really think the Cards are unable to beat either team? Honestly, I think these guys are vying for the honor of being defeated by the Cardinals.
Slayer Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 Me? It has nothing to do with my perception of the Cards ability... I just don't want to see them go back to the WS, nor do I want to see the Stros in the WS.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 I'd rather see the Cards there over the Astros. I felt dirty having to pick a team in the last NLCS, but I'll be forced to do it once again and my choice won't be any different.
devo Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 Me? It has nothing to do with my perception of the Cards ability... I just don't want to see them go back to the WS, nor do I want to see the Stros in the WS. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Whoops, didn't read the previous posts properly. Sorry, my mistake. I'm not thrilled with the prospect of the Cards being the NL Champs again either, but then again, I like them infinitely more than the other three teams in the running.
Guest Smues Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 Well at least I didn't have to watch this live and let it ruin my evening. Tommorow is going to be a shitty day though since we'll be losing early in the day.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 'Bout time the Braves took advantage of their scoring chances. Grand slam coming with only one hit in the inning, that being the slam itself.
Guest Smues Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 Adam LaRoche hits a grandslam to give Atlanta a 4-0 lead in the 3rd. With Hudson on only 3 days rest and our bullpen being what it is that lead isn't safe at all, but at least it gives a little breathing room.
bob_barron Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 That sound you heard was me screaming. ADAM LAROCHE MR. ADD!~ I'm cautiously optimstic, since Hudson looks to be pitching well
Bruiser Chong Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 Like I said yesterday, I still think this series is going back to Atlanta. What happens from there, is anyone's guess.
Vern Gagne Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 Keep chipping away at the lead. Force Hudson to throw alot of pitchers, and get to the bullpen.
bob_barron Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 I thought you were a Twins fan Verne. Explain your Astros fandom please.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 LaRoche probably would've been safe had he not been jogging the whole way.
Guest Smues Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 Yeah there was no excuse for that. He should have watched the third base coach, not the ball.
bob_barron Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 Yea, that was a bad play. But he hit a grand slam so he's forgiven. Let's hope Farnsworth can get the final six.
Guest Smues Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 No pinch hitter for Hudson??? Wow. I know the bullpen is shit, but I figured they'd use Farnsworth for the 8th and 9th, or maybe Horacio.
bob_barron Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 I guess Cox is confident with the 6-1 lead. I'm still so nervous.
KingPK Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 Why not? Last year's was terrific. Well, no one watched last year's so....
Guest Smues Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 And here comes Farnsworth with 2 on and no outs.
bob_barron Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 These at bats are not good for my stomach
bob_barron Posted October 9, 2005 Report Posted October 9, 2005 I'm seriously gonna have a heart attack
