Guest lousms Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 What do you guys think about a Smackdown Vs. Raw 2006 Leauge? If you're wondering what the hell I'm talking about.... I create a 'federation' and some title belts and create matches. People sign up and join and I book them in their matches, which they play online. It's run kind of like WWE or whatever. BUT WHY? Well, good question. 1.) You get to play with the same group of people, and the boss will try to challenge your skill level closely. 2.) If you lose a belt, you know it's still in your group, and you can get it back. 3.) Good commuinity feeling. 4.) It's just fun, ok! So, am I crazy? What do you think?
Team Angle Pusher Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 I would seriously love that but I need to buy PS2 Internet thingy first though. I shall own with Muhammad Hassan
Rendclaw Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 I would do that in a heartbeat. CAWs, or just established characters? run a search on "comparison shopping PS2 network adaptor" I found one for $13.
dubq Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 I'd be in for this, for sure! I've been debating trading in my PS2 for a slimline (not only for the network adapter, but to save space too) and paying the difference.
Guest adamsummers Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 lou? damn finally signed up to the forums... sweet.... anyways u know i would totally be up for this, cept for no online ablity for me nor the time due to work... but brilliant idea pal.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted October 12, 2005 Report Posted October 12, 2005 If this was a CAW only thing, I'd do it. If people here are going to use Muhammad Hassan then no.
Aero Posted October 13, 2005 Report Posted October 13, 2005 If I ever get the network adaptor anytime soon, I'd definitely be into this.
Guest lousms Posted October 13, 2005 Report Posted October 13, 2005 Thanks for all the positive feedback guys, I'll let you know as I develop the idea some more. I was thinking that our leauge would be CAW only, but, thinking it over, is there any advantage if someone uses Hassan, for example? The CAW's are probobly better anyway. Well, I'm gonna formulate a plan and I'll get back to you all. Thanks! (PS- My name's John, nice to meet you. I've been watching y'all for a lil' while, you rock!) PSS- Hey Adam, it's pretty cheap, the online thing. 15 bucks or so.
dubq Posted October 13, 2005 Report Posted October 13, 2005 Question: is there a service fee to play SVR2006 online or is it free?
Da Maintenance Man Posted October 13, 2005 Report Posted October 13, 2005 Question: is there a service fee to play SVR2006 online or is it free? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's free. At least it was in last year's SDvR. I can't see them all of a sudden charging for this year's game.
David Blazenwing Posted October 13, 2005 Report Posted October 13, 2005 If I can get the adapter thing, I'll join (or try to, anyways.)
dubq Posted October 13, 2005 Report Posted October 13, 2005 I'm also cool with the CAW-only idea. I think it would be better than mixing CAW & pre-set wrestlers. I'm assuming that CAW stats will be vastly inferior to those of the WWE wrestlers? If/when this does happen, we should gather times that people are available to book matches. Will we also have a "promo" thread to write efed style promos for our wrestlers or will this strictly be for shits and giggles and playing the game online?
Golgo 13 Posted October 13, 2005 Report Posted October 13, 2005 You don't want me in your Leauge. I would kill all you jerks.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted October 13, 2005 Report Posted October 13, 2005 Why? Its not like the efedding promos determine who wins. Your playing skills in the game does.
Guest I miss Test. Posted October 13, 2005 Report Posted October 13, 2005 While it's a good idea... running leagues on PS2 online is a frustrating thing to accomplish.
dubq Posted October 13, 2005 Report Posted October 13, 2005 Why? Its not like the efedding promos determine who wins. Your playing skills in the game does. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> True. I wasn't asking for that feature, I was just wondering if that would be something that's expected (ie: to build characters, etc).
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted October 13, 2005 Report Posted October 13, 2005 I'd hope the league is run like a legitimate league, where wins are rewarded and losses are not. The best players should be the ones to go for the titles and so forth while the worst should just be a designated jobber for the time being. It should be a competition, it's not like we get together to work out the spots, unless we wanted to put together a visually attractive match, but who else would watch?
Guest Zarock Posted October 13, 2005 Report Posted October 13, 2005 Cool, I might join. Call dibs on Spanky though.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted October 13, 2005 Report Posted October 13, 2005 Did you even read the thread, Zarock? No existing wrestlers...
dubq Posted October 13, 2005 Report Posted October 13, 2005 Did you even read the thread, Zarock? No existing wrestlers... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Spanky's not in the game, so technically he'd be a CAW.

The only goal should be to win matches. Titles and such should be decided via a tournament, and then challengers via a simple points-based ranking system (+1 for a win, -1 for a loss). I disagree about making people designated jobbers. You can't force someone to take a dive in a videogame unless they want to.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted October 13, 2005 Report Posted October 13, 2005 No they will take dives by sucking naturally. That's what I mean by making them the jobbers... the guys who just can't win.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted October 13, 2005 Report Posted October 13, 2005 I do wonder how often each guy would be "booked" so to speak?
Team Angle Pusher Posted October 13, 2005 Report Posted October 13, 2005 It will be hella fun if we do this right. Eventually we will have jobbers, midcarders, upper midcarders and main eventers. Titles on the line, Tag Teams will be formed. We can even do a fake tournie.
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted October 13, 2005 Report Posted October 13, 2005 I'd hope people would be creative and serious with their CAWs. I'd hate to have to wrestle a piece of shit CAW just because its owner couldn't be bothered to put some thought in it. Also if I do encounter a CAW I deem to be shitty, I will thoroughly decimate the person in a match vs me.
Steviekick Posted October 13, 2005 Report Posted October 13, 2005 Now would it be a CAW of ourself or a new character?
