Eclipse Posted October 18, 2005 Author Report Posted October 18, 2005 You need almost all the Sonic games especially part 2, Knuckles, and Spinball. Saturday Night Slam Masters and motherfucking Alter Beast! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I gots me Slam Masters on SNES. I love that game. I played Altered Beast once, I remember that corny line......POWER UP.
AndrewTS Posted October 18, 2005 Report Posted October 18, 2005 Sega Slam Masters lacked play modes (no tag team, max of two players). Control was better on the SNES one as well, IMO. However, Sega one did have the Death Match, with a barbed wire ring and a crowd that happily tossed weapons in the ring. X-Men and X-Men 2 on Genesis were quite good.
The Tino Standard Posted October 21, 2005 Report Posted October 21, 2005 If you like boxing at all, gotta give Greatest Heavyweights a shot. Great lineup of real former world champions, plus you can build up your own boxer and then take on a list of jobbers. The reigning champion in the game is basically Mike Tyson (I think his name was Dixon?). After you win the belt, you defend it against all the real studs. GH is also great for multiplayer.
Jericholic82 Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 Waitaminute! NO World Series Baseball '95 this far into the discussion? FOR SHAME. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I cant belive I forgot, that game still rules! The stadium models were awesome for 16 bit era and the gameplay was tight.
Star Ocean 3 Posted October 24, 2005 Report Posted October 24, 2005 Decap Attack Dynamite Headdy Rocket Knight Adventures
AndrewTS Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 Renegade hasn't replied, so I downloaded Buster's Hidden Treasure...and it's basically Sonic the Rabbit. Imagine Sonic sans spinning, and a little slower to pick up speed, and you've got a good idea of what the game is like. Not as tight or HQ, but still fun.
Anya Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 X-Men 1 was impossible but I liked X-Men 2 Clone Wars. I always wanted to play Castlevania Bloodlines. I remember as a kid it was like my birthday or something and I had a choice of any game I wanted and I had to pick between Hard Corps and Bloodlines. Hard Corps ended up being one of my favorite Genesis games but I've always wondered if I made the right choice. BL looked so cool. Shinobi 3 was great. The horse and boat levels looked so cool. And you could actually beat it, unlike the others which are impossible.
Narcoleptic Jumper Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Is it just my boyhood nostalgia talking or was Cool Spot actually a really fun game?

BL looked so cool. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I didn't really give any of the X-Men games on Genesis a fair shake--I was burned by too many non-Konami licensed games by that point. Passing on Bloodlines was a mistake, but never playing it since is even a bigger mistake. It's a great game even today, although easy by the NES game standards. Thankfully there's a password feature. There's some amazing boss fights, too. I recommend giving it a shot.
Jericholic82 Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Is it just my boyhood nostalgia talking or was Cool Spot actually a really fun game? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, I agree. It is a fun game and it had decent graphics for the era and cool music.
Anya Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 There's some amazing boss fights, too. I recommend giving it a shot. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I doubt I would do well anymore. I lost my skill in 2D action games years ago. It would just be frustrating. Cool Spot was ok, but too hard.
Guest ABOBO Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 Cool Spot was fun but there were some jumps later on in the game that were not even evil, just poorly thought out.
Guest Leelee Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 Playing through Phantasy Star IV again. I just love the story of the game. And the PS series has a special place for me, since PS1 was my first truly good game.
