OAO Impact Special Thread

I like dthe show. I dont see why spike cant put this on primetime every week on a thursday or tuesday or whatever. It will probably get a higher rating there anyway after awhile.

The x six man was one of the best matches I have seen period in months (then again I havent see any tna ppvs or any wwe ppvs outside of rumble, mania, GAB, and Summerslam this year )

I cant believe that Samoa Joe has developed that much since I first saw him in the socal indies 5 years ago. He was just a generic samoan guy then, nows hes a monster with power and attitude. His offense is awesome.

anyhow that match was the first match that I have really "gotten into" in a long time.

Though I figured Jarret would win, the spoiler commercial was dumb, and could have easily been not shown.

and I like many of the TNA themes actually.

The PPV names are really lame though, but its not like they have many options, as wwe owns all the good names

and Gail kim is with JJ why? um.......cuz she was in wwe before I guess? I hate when TNA brings in every fromer wwe/wcw jobber, midcarder, or star and treats them all the same and have the announcers get excited the same

"the NWA World title is the same title Ric Flair carried around in the 1980s. It certainly was not "made" for Jeff Jarrett."

That NWA Title has also been held by Tracy Smothers, The Colorado Kid, Chris Candido, and countless other low-carders.

It always makes me laugh when people bemoan Jarrett for 'killing the respectability of the NWA Title' when a few years ago it was held by Dan Severn.

Dan Severn.

Dan.

Severn.

Puts things in perspective, huh?

Not only that, but his first reign he held it for at least 3 years.

I friggen HATEE the hate on the Canadian Destroyer. Honestly.. you could do that to someone for real.. regardless whether you think it's fake or not. If you jump and flip yourself lover, the other guy is going to go with you.

The move looks amazing.

Don't even get me started on the Ole! kick.

Hm, that's funny. The same effect doesn't seem to happen on a sunset flip.

There is no way that move could be actually done. None at all. You are out of your mind if you think it's realistic in the slightest sense.

The six man tag match was third match ever that sent cold shivers down my spine. The whole show was awesome.

In a span of four weeks, I have stopped watching wwe completely (minus Paul London matches). Tna just offers more what I'm looking for.

A lot of things in wrestling depend on how much you suspend disbelief. No one can whip you into ropes or cable and you rebound off of them and fly back at the same speed, however we all accept it. Some can accept the Canadian Destroyer, some can't. Still, a whole lot of stuff in wrestling that's basic is not plausible. Not saying people who can or cannot accept certain moves are right or wrong, just saying in the entire world of pro wrestling, most of the shit is not plausible.

We accept wrestlers staying in promotions even though their boss hates them. Look at the latest Austin bit. Why have Austin fight for JR's job when they already fired him and fight for his own job as well? Why put this up in a wrestling match. Why dont' they just fire Austin and be done with him? How can a retired wrestler fight for his job? Even in OVW, the owner did an angle where he wanted to make the heel champion's life a living hell. Why doesn't the heel champion just quit? Why would you stay at a job where your boss blatantly tells you that they are going to make your job suck?

Bottom line: We, as fans put up with a lot of implausible shit in wrestling, from moves to storylines.

Are you kidding me? I'm optimistic and hopeful that his 1 on 1 matches (haven't seen any that I recall on Impact) in TNA and RoH are good, but while Joe's mannerisms and attitude were great, his ring work didn't impress me at all. He was easily the worst out of the 6 men in last night's match. Again, it may have only been for one night, but the point stands. It was mainly just a bunch of shitty knee strikes, which, while stiff, bored me.

You're saying that fucking Sonjay Dutt and his "sprinkler" based offense impressed you more than Samoe Joe?

Wow.

I got this picture from TNApics.com; Damn, Joe is scary

Okay, that is now from here on out the "BITCH I'LL EAT YOU" scream.

What makes it so great is that Joe is generally one of the nicest guys in the business you'll ever meet.

You said he "was easily the worst of the six" which includes Sonjay.

In that match, yes. Still, that doesn't even say that he's bad.

I'm not trying to bash Joe at all. By all accounts, he's really good, and I can't judge him properly without seeing at least one singles match. Also. headded me as a friend on MySpace, which automatically makes me want to like him. :)
