The OAO RAW thread - 11/07/05

Recommended Posts

Nice fast counting by Davari, still nothing will beat Teddy Long's fast count on the Road Warriors at COTC5.

Explain.

Teddy Long screwed the Road Warriors in a NWA Tag Title match with a fast count that was so quick it fit a 3 count into 1 second, which led to Teddy being a heel manager.

I did not think this show would end with f'n Davari taking out the champ John Cena when no one else could, when I first started watching RAW tonight.

Styles spazzing out, while sneaking in "Monday Night RAW SUCKS" just capped off this night. I love WWE. :D

Who in the last 10 years has had a longer WWF/WWE title reign than Cena?

Would Diesel technically count?

Diesel, JBL, and maybe HBK.

Let me go look this up.

HBK held the title from April until November. Not a year. Triple H held the World title for 9 months.

Diesel was a year (give or take a few days), JBL was 10 months.

Suprisingly good Raw tonight. Sure, there were a few rough spots, but the good outweighed the bad IMO.

Is he the only one?

*ahem* The OTHER champion has held the title the same amount of months and days as Cena.

Different title.

I figured he just meant the world titles in general.

No, I meant the actual WWF/WWE title.

Anyways, my point for asking was that Cena's gotten a much linger reign than he deserves.

Guest Andrew J.

Styles on commentary, good opening promo, mic time for Benjamin and Helms, a decently long women's match, undercard titles being defended, no McMahons, minimal HHH, good wrestling all around, and the return of Daivari. I would have preferred Shelton and Conway going over in their respective matches, but otherwise this was a pretty damn sweet show.

Here we go, did the match and got this:

John Bradshaw Layfield

Shawn Michaels

-- March 31st, 1996 to November 17th, 1996 = 231 days

John Cena

-- April 2nd, 2005 to N/A = 216+ Days

Stone Cold Steve Austin

-- April 1st, 2001 to September 23rd, 2001 = 175 Days

Brock Lesnar

-- September 16th, 2003 to February 15th, 2004 = 152 Days

Shawn Michaels

-- November 9th, 1997 to March 29th, 1998 = 141 Days

Bret Hart

-- November 19th, 1995 to March 31st, 1996 = 133 Days

The Undertaker

-- March 23rd, 1997 to August 3rd, 1997 = 133 Days

Eddie Guerrero

-- February 15th, 2004 to June 27th, 2004 = 133 Days

Kurt Angle

-- October 22nd, 2000 to February 25th, 2001 = 126 Days

This was a pretty damn solid show.

Maybe that does make it a BIZARRRRO RAW in this day and age.

A minor point, but Triple H actually held the title longer than JBL:

JBL: 280 days from GAB 2004

Triple H: 282 days from Armageddon 2002

How they did this tonight with Kurt and Cena, they might as well had Sign Guy Dudely running around with a sign saying something along the lines of "PANIC MODE ON!!!", it was just that obvious to me, and when it's just that obvious, there are quite a few things wrong.

All you "Cena is getting booed by everyone and isn't over" posters are fucking retarded and tonight (much like every night) proved it.

I'm finding most of this show quite boring... but Styles is 1000x better than Ross. He's a very welcome addition.

Shut up dude, they brought out Daivari and had Angle do a bunch of time wasting crap.
