I'd say the top 3 in each league was pretty spot on. I liked Gomes and Cano better than Street, but no argument on him winning.

I could have easily said Iguchi got screwed but I don't think he deserved it after his postseason performance.

Voting is done before the postseason, so Iguchi's postseason performance doesn't matter. It's not like the White Sox lost, it's a small sample, and a good portion of Iguchi's value lies in his defense. That the White Sox were such a good defensive team is a big point in Iguchi's favor.

 

I hope the voters didn't penalize him due to his status as a Japanese veteran. Regardless of what you think the eligibility rules are, Iguchi was eligible this year.

 

I can't really argue with Huston Street though.

Ah yeah well Iguchi wasn't that hot in the regular season either. He has good defense but that's it.
