Tony149 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2005 For the second year in a row the Anderson Cup will be held throughout the month of February on HeldDOWN~! with the Finals occuring at Zero Hour. Some changes have been made to the format. There will still be two conferences (Miracle Weirdness Connection & Los Infernales), the "invitation only" gimmick has been dropped in favor of a traditional playoff style format because of the explosion of tag teams not controlled by myself or Eski. If you would like to be involved in the 2006 Anderson Cup say so here. The GPX are the defending champions but I don't know if they'll be available. If they are, and I'm sure Zack could work this into whatever he has planned for them, I'm thinking they'd be upset in the first round by Los Diablos de Feugo. The GPX are gonna beat them in the next few weeks so it makes sense.

Tony149 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 (edited) I'm hoping for at least 16 teams, if not then it would go down to 8 like last year. Here's what I have so far...so good! HEELS: Black T GPX PR/SJP Christian Wright & Bo Team Heyross SCM NRG FACES: Love Doctors Los Diablos de Fuego Lonestar Gunslingers (making OAOAST debut) Sk8ter Boiz Heavenly Rockers Sooner Bruisers Blonde/Faqu Glory By Anarchy TBD TK/Reject Total: 16 Questionable: The Usual Suspects Hell's Hitmen COD Desperation: Los Conquistadors Edited November 10, 2005 by Tony149
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted November 8, 2005 GPX and NRG are fine by me. Keep in mind we also could use the reborn "Strong Stylin'" James Blonde and Faqu, who I've been tossing around nicknames for ("Samoan Tsunami" being one of them).
Tony149 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2005 (edited) Keep in mind we also could use the reborn "Strong Stylin'" James Blonde and Faqu, who I've been tossing around nicknames for ("Samoan Tsunami" being one of them). Consider them in. I also like the "Samoan Tsunami" nickname. All I need now is 2 more teams. Team Heyross is high on my want list. I'm determined to get them paired up with the Sooner Bruisers at some point. I'll push them past the opening round to get that done if need be. I'd also like to know how many of you guys would be up for writing some matches? I'm pretty sure I can count on Eski, what about the rest? I could have a tournament bracket up by the end of the week, or sometime next if I get lazy. Edited November 9, 2005 by Tony149

alfdogg 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2005 Feel free to use Team Heyross. I'm open to using TK/Reject, as well, but I'd like to see them at least get out of round 1 if it's no problem
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2005 I'm sure I could write a few matches if needs be, seeing as I'm heading the Tag Division and all. Glory By Anarchy are more face than heel, btw. Infact, I should have edited stats by now to make them faces, but apparantly I haven't because I am a boob. Also, isn't the Anderson Cup for the #1 Contendership at Anglemania this year? If it is, then that means no NNMX (who, granted, aren't there) and no Usual Suspects (who are on the possibles list), right?
Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2005 Yeah, I'll try and help as much as I can. And yeah, Team Heyross-Sooners would be fun.
Tony149 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2005 Also, isn't the Anderson Cup for the #1 Contendership at Anglemania this year? No. After what happened last year, with the whole why should the losers of the tournament get a shot at the title before the #1 contenders, I've changed the stip to where the winner gets a shot at the tag titles at AM instead. Blonde and Faqu are on the bubble. If a face team is replaced, they'd be the first to go. The same for NRG on the heel side.

Tony149 0 Report post Posted November 9, 2005 ZOINKS!!!! Isn't that how it worked last year? GPX beat Black T got the Anderson Cup and the right to face COD at AM for the tag titles. Yes and no. Remember when I questioned having COD defend their titles prior to AM because I thought it took away from the AC winners? Months later it hit me. The AC should of been for a title match at the biggest show of the year, not for the #1 contendership. Much manly man love to those who've offered their services to write matches. I got some of our best and brightest onboard.

Tony149 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2005 (edited) Here are the brackets. Considering the number of matches (15), the tournament will begin January 5th, 2006, with the Conference Finals taking place on February 16th. We'll do 2 matches a week, one from MWC Conference, one from LI Conference. I wasn't sure whether or not to assign matches, so I'll let you pick whichever match you'd like to write. If that doesn't go well then I'll assign you a match. You name will be added next to the match you've chosen. OPENING ROUND, MWC CONFERENCE #1 Black T vs. #8 James Blonde & Faqu -- Zack #4 Christian Wright & Bohemoth vs. #5 The Lonestar Gunslingers #3 The Love Doctors vs. #6 Team Heyross -- Eski #2 The Sooner Bruisers vs. #7 Glory by Anarchy -- KC OPENING ROUND, LOS INFERNALES CONFERENCE #1 GPX vs. #8 Los Diablos de Fuego -- Zack #4 The Heavenly Rockers vs. #5 Tha Puerto Rican & Stephen Joseph -- SJ #3 The Sk8ter Boiz vs. #6 The South Central Militia -- Patty #2 Thunderkid & Reject vs. #7 NRG -- Alf SEMI-FINALS, MWC CONFERENCE #4 The Lonestar Gunslingers d. #1 Black T -- Tony #2 The Sooner Bruisers d. #6 Team Heyross SEMI-FINALS, LI CONFERENCE #4 The Heavenly Rockers d. #8 Los Diablos de Fuego via forefit; SCM assault Los Diablos before match, trying to take their place after having been eliminated earlier in the tournament -- Tony #3 Sk8ter Boiz d. #2 TK & Reject -- Alf MWC CONFERENCE FINALS #2 The Sooner Bruisers d. #5 The Lonestar Gunslingers -- Tony LI CONFERENCE FINALS #4 The Heavenly Rockers d. #3 Sk8ter Boiz ANDERSON CUP FINALS, ZERO HOUR -- Feb. 26, 2006 The Heavenly Rockers d. alfdogg 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2005 I was actually thinking today of adding a new heel team in the near future, that you can use instead of TK/Reject. They'll actually be feuding with each other, with the newbs putting Reject out of action at Climax, and then in his return, him and TK could cost them their tournament match. In favor of kicking said feud off, I'm going to put a different team in the 6-man finals against Brock/Heyross, who will be winning the titles, if anyone has a suggestion for that slot. Mystery Eskimo 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2005 I'll take Docs-Heyross, sounds like a fun match. Otherwise, I have no requests.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2005 I'll take Bruisers/GBA, seeing as I've got a direction I want the GBA to go in.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2005 I'll do Blonde/Faqu vs. Black T, and most likely (depending on time) the GPX/Diablos match.
Tony149 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2005 The bracket has been edited to reflect who's writing what. Popick, you said you'd help, so may I suggest The Heavenly Rockers-PR/SJ match? Patty, wherever you're lurking, you've been excellent with the Boiz in the past and I think you can do some great work with the SCM, so I'd like you to do the Boiz-SCM match. Patty O'Green 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2005 Seeing that you're giving me like a four month advanced notice, I suppose I can fit the SCM/Boiz match in somewhere. I had an idea for the SCM but I'd rather not reveal it in front of the unwashed masses who inhabit this folder.
