Add in the fact that they also have to pay for voice acting, scores, etc, etc, and the costs of the normal game itself are staggering. And judging from what I played of 12, Square's one of the few companies that gets quality for their releases with English dubbing. So that probably increases the cost several fold. Plus, delaying it only makes people want it more. I think Square figured that out quite awhile ago. And notice with that site you linked, both releases will fall in a separate profit year. It's a birthday present for my sister because that's all she ever talks about nowadays. I'm going to get her a more serious game though and it comes down to Bioshock and Left 4 Dead. I know she's played L4D before and really liked it, but Bioshock seems like a more complete game, and for half the price than Left 4 Dead. I'm sure L4D has some other upsides too, but I haven't played it. I know she likes zombies but I figure she might like that little girl from Bioshock too. Opinions? Smart move. Also, Square gets to prep bonus content to add to the game *after* the English release so they can make an International edition to sell back to Japan. But she likes weird and creepy games and I figure both of those games cover that. Besides online play, what are some of the highlights of L4D (preferably without too many story spoilers)?? L4D seems more like a game to be enjoyed online with others and Bioshock is more a single-player experience, so what she prefers might be the decider. I liked Bioshock but I wasn't all that impressed by it. I loved the atmosphere of the game and the controls. You could either treat the game as a FPS or just do magic the whole time while playing the game. I liked the story but I just didn't see the replay value with the game to play it over again. L4Dead is a great online multiplayer. The main problem of the game is that it doesn't have a story, it's just 4 people shooting zombies. The weapons in the game are rather limited. I do not think L4D is worth the 40/50 that it is going for now. I do think that your sister would probably play it longer than she would play Bioshock. Bioshock is a 15-20 hour game. L4D is a 2 hour game or so for each of the 4 missions depending on the difficulty. Thats 8 hours right there and times that by the amount of times she would play it online with friends and getting achievement points. It's a very fun game. L4Dis excellent as well, but will get old fast if she's not playing local co-op at least, and even that's a stretch since that's only 2 players and versus Mode (play as zombies) wouldn't be an option. Mike wanna be 0 Report post Posted January 22, 2009 Castle Crashers.....get the demo. The game is pretty much the demo, but 4x longer. I found the demo to be really fun, but upon buying it found the game horribly repetitive (then again that's the point of beatemups, so.) Also it was just patched for multiplayer, so that may make it more interesting. Braid...I really enjoyed the demo, but there's no replayability factor so I haven't bought it yet. I can't speak to full games, since I don't have any, other than what's on the XBLA Unplugged disc. And I've only put any extensive time into Bejeweled 2, Texas Hold 'Em, and Geometry Wars. All of which are decent enough. I'm sure you'd know whether you want to spend money on Bejeweled or poker. Although I like cute games and characters, so I'll give it a try. Its very long, and you've already played it three times before under a different name. It's whole selling feature is that its from the original creator of Final Fantasy, and he hasn't done much to give the game its own unique feel. The cheesy Cock Rock Battle Music is probably the highlight of the game for me. The low point is the one chance achievement points, that you don't know you have one chance to achieve until, well, its too late. By which time, if you haven't saved several different versions at different time stamps of your game, you'll have to start a new game and play several dozen hours back into the game, to try and unlock that achievement again. Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted January 25, 2009 I recently bought a new LCD computer monitor and want to hook up my Xbox 360 to it. (It has an HDMI port in the back) Problem is my 360 doesn't. So what would be the best way to go about doing this? I was going to do what the guy in said, but I realized afterwards that that's the "VGA setup" and wouldn't use the HDMI port at all. Is the only way to use the HDMI setup through the use of a VGA/HDMI converter? (Which were pretty expensive, the cheapest one I saw being 50) And if so, would there really be a noticeable difference between the 2 setups graphically? Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted January 26, 2009 Unless your monitor has an HDMI port in the back, and you have the cable to go from the 360's HDMI to that one, it won't work without a VGa to HDMI converter. Matt Young 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2009 I just opened Ninja Gaiden II last night after getting it when it was on sale for $10 at Best Buy a few weeks ago. It can be pretty challenging at points, even on Acolyte. That chapter 2 boss forced me to use all my health potions to beat it. I don't know how much time I'll get to spend with this game due to having so much else to play, but I like it so far. It's well worth the $10 I spent.
