You know, if you think the Big XII doesn't get respect now (a dubious claim in itself) then how do you think the media will shit all over the conference if their third-straight representation in the national title game gets smoked. Fuck Texas, I hope they Mack Brown never sees a national championship. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> After how Mack Brown cried to get into the Rose Bowl last year (Shut up Dama, you know its true that he robbed Cal of its bid) I so hope that he gets KILLED at the Rose Bowl this year. Or better yet....Let them do a Job of massive proportions, next week and wind up in the Bowl where West Virginia is playing, so they can bitch all month how the Big East is beneath them, only to get their asses kicked by the Mountaineers. LSU would end up in the Rose Bowl (provided that Florida and Georgia beat Florida State and Georgia Tech, respectively, then LSU wins the SEC Title Game over Georgia). While LSU is a tough sell for the title game this year to most people, such as the BCS computer poll analysts, I'd love it just to see the elusive LSU-USC game we've been wanting to see since the split title in 2003. Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2005 Hey guys, you're just egging him on now. But guess what, DamaSault is making football not fun in here again. I blame him for my shocking turn on Tennessee earlier in the thread. I look like some sort of animal. Anyways, suspend him from this folder or these threads if that's even possible until the season. This is going to be intolerable by the time the major bowls roll around, and anyone can see that. But back to Tennessee. They're gonna mop the floor with Kentucky tomorrow, and it'll be awesome. It's their bowl game, and those blue-clad motherfuckers are the poor bastards that happen to be their opponent. People ragged on the Vols for not smearing them last year, so they're gonna do it this year on Kentucky's Senior Day. Guess what, it's our seniors' final game too. 21st win over the Wildcats in a row won't be too hard. And Texas is going to be beaten soundly by USC in the title game. This USC team is something you can't possibly hate on for anything besides them beating your team of choice, or if you like a Pac-10 team. Or anyone they've played since 2003. This is a team we're going to be talking about for years. Texas will probably give them the best fight possible, but USC is a fucking juggernaut. It won't be a blowout of last year's proportions, but there's going to be a very clear gap between the teams' talent and ability by halftime. Texas is definitely the #2 team in the country, but they won't finish #1. I just wish Fulmer would go on a diet during the off-season and get back to his 2004 season weight. That seemed to work. Shit, make the 1998 weight a project for 2007.

Shit, make the 1998 weight a project for 2007. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> At this point, I really don't see what indication there is that USC is going to beat Texas soundly this year. They've played so many close games that I can't think of them as a "juggernaut". Consider if if they do win the title game, the 42 points they gave up to Fresno State will be the most surrendered by a national champion since Penn State in 1982. Their wins against Notre Dame, Fresno State, Arizona, and Arizona State are hardly what I'd call dominating victories. Last year's team rolled through their opponents much more convincingly. Between USC and Texas, I'd say Texas has dominated their opponents more this season, although they've played less good teams than USC will have by the end of the season. CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2005 That's because USC has had to play against far better offenses than Texas has. They've played against 4 of the nation's top 10 scoring offenses -- Oregon, Arizona State, Notre Dame and Fresno State -- and are facing a fifth next week in UCLA. That's not going to help your defensive stats like playing teams like Rice, Baylor, Kansas and Oklahoma State would. Of course, Texas has the top scoring offense in the nation, so that would suggest another close game...but USC is also going to have four weeks to prepare for them, as opposed to October where they played three huge offenses in four weeks, with no time off. therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2005 I was thinking today while reading some 2006 recruiting rankings what the preseason top 5 will be for next year. Here's some contenders: Notre Dame - return many starters, including Brady Quinn and Jeff Samardzija, plus have a top 5 recruiting class coming in. Texas- return Vince Young, but lose a lot on the offensive and defensive lines. Will have the top recruiting class in the country. Auburn - young team this year that is hitting their stride, Cox and Irons will have experience for next year Any other teams you want to recommend?
Hogan Made Wrestling 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2005 At the risk of being disappointed again, I think I have to be a bit of a homer and mention Michigan. Henne underperformed this year but should mature, while Mike Hart should be back injury-free. Of the four losses this year only the Notre-Dame game was a real stinker and the team could have easily finished with 2 losses or less.

Their main losses, personnel-wise, will be along the O-Line and D-Line, as C Rudy Niswanger, LT Andrew Whitworth, TE David Jones, DT Claude Wroten, DT Kyle Williams, and DE Melvin Olliver are all graduating. Other losses include RB Joseph Addai, CB Ronnie Prude, and WR Bennie Brazell, but those are all from well-stocked positions (RB and WR) or are players who are notorious screwups (Prude caused at least two last-second LSU losses, in last season's games against Auburn and Iowa). The big things in their favor will be the stabilization of the coaching staff (they're still working out the kinks after hastily assembling this group after Saban's departure), the return of RB Alley Broussard from a knee injury, and the increased experience of QB JaMarcus Russell. Yeah if you guys can use that excuse then so will Texas. Besides Mack didn't cry. I really don't know where people are getting this at. Urban Warfare 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2005 Florida State could have a killer recruiting class as well. Currently, Percy Harvin, the top WR in the nation, has Florida State at number 1, depending on who you listen to (I use ESPN Insider's Recruit Tracker) and they already have the top player in Myron Rolle, so look out for them. They'll fall on hard times. Everyone thought Stoops would be able to compete forever b/c of the talent he was pulling in and his ability as a coach but it leveled off this year.
