Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2005 Good. Not that I necessarily agree with the decision the Eagles made, but they should have the right to make it.

Failed Bridge 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2005 Gene Upshaw and the Players Association had a tantrum after the decision and fired the arbitrator. He's no longer allowed to rule in any NFL arbitration cases.
Guest Smues Report post Posted November 23, 2005 What a bunch of whiney fucks. Waaaa he ruled againt us
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2005 After hearing the statment from the arbitrator I can kind of see why the union is pissed. He outright bitchslapped TO, instead of just saying the team proved their case and the punishment held (of course I loved it).
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2005 Wow, 38 pages of a decision and the guy says the Eagles did nothing wrong. No wonder they were pissed.

Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2005 Was part of the decision to execute Drew Rosenhaus and to bar the media from ever mentioning agents ever again?
Failed Bridge 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2005 no, but the arbitrator makes mention that part of the reason why the suspension is upheld is because of the actions of both T.O. and Drew Rosenhaus.
Guest Leelee Report post Posted November 24, 2005 On ESPNEWS today, Mark Schlereth went on for a good minute about how TO would be a great celebrity if he stopped doing stupid shit... because he looks great with his shirt off. Now, please media, let that be the end of it.

Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2005 I just got a visual of Kevin Nash in the Longest Yard when I saw that post. I'm about as happy as I could be about this. TO deserves everything that is happening to him.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2005 On cross-examination, the following colloquy occurred: Q. I don’t understand, Mr. Owens. If the statement that you originally made was “I wasn’t the one who got tired,” and everyone including this interviewer and your team mates, as you know, thought you were talking about Donovan McNabb, how can you then say you must have been talking about yourself?.... A. I was talking about myself, because he asked me about my condition. On cross-examination, the following interchange occurred: Q. So when you went up to the podium on Friday, you did know that Coach Reid wanted you to get with Donovan McNabb and make things right? A. Right, but I expressed to Drew that I didn’t feel like that was necessary because I didn’t owe him that. Wow. Just wow.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2005 One funny thing about the ruling is that he did not find Owens at fault for the fight with Douglas. It is pretty good that he upholds the suspension without the fight included. Moreover, while the fight may, or may not be, a sign of disharmony in the locker room, it clearly was not Owens’ fault. Now, please media, let that be the end of it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's true. I heard guys I know, upon seeing the fucker during the preseason fracas doing crunches for the media, say "Look at that, T.O. is fuckin' ripped!" It's the 21st century, actual merit and character don't matter anymore, it seems. It's all about performance, unfortunately. Why else would people bitch about the bowl system so much? Fuck traditions and all that, we just want the best. Fuck that, sez I.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2005 By the way, this arbitrator being "fired!" is bullshit. His contract was up in 10 days anyway, and he wasn't being brought back. Just the NFL trying to look hard for their players.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2005 I would assume, though, that every arbitrator's contract is up in 10 days. So he is being "fired" in the sense he is not being renewed. Since either the union or the NFL can get rid of 1 arbitrator during a 10 day stretch a season, you would have to figure that every arbitrator is on one year contracts that get renewed each year unless they are dumped.
