Dandy 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2005 Hell, it won't be seen in a lot of markets in the US. We aren't getting it here. UPN sucks and WWE should be looking for a good deal somewhere else. My UPN channel is a hybrid of WB and UPN. Before Smackdown moved to Fridays, I got Smackdown at 10 PM Thursday on the East Coast. Now it is a Friday Show and I get it at 8 PM on Saturday. It is supposed to be on WSBK, so I'll be able to watch it, but they didn't seem to advertise it that well. Maybe they want a live show to do a quick World Title change? Dandy 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2005 I'm thinking since they tape on Tuesdays anyway, it wouldn't be that much of a burden to make the show live. Smackdown is probably not getting the ratings they want and they think a live show will make it be watched by more people, or they are shopping it out to other channels by saying it could be a live show. Tuesday is a terrible night for television (other than House which is a good show, but not one I really care for), most of the programming is reality shows (I've counted around 7 or 8 on at one time some tuesdays)and most of the people who watch reality shows aren't in the WWE's targeted demographic anyhow. RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2005 While I'm not 100% sure on this, I'm am pretty sure this is the reason: The WWE and UPN have an agreement in their contract stating that along with regular Smackdown episodes, they also get a certain number of 1 hour specials. If Smackdown struggles to draw a good rating on a friday night with nothing against it, how can they expect a good rating for a show that horrible promoted and against stronger field. My problem with this is Big Show was just playing face last night against HHH on Raw and tonight he's going to heel up on SD. I know some people will justify it as he is a different person on each show, but that is not very plausible and goes outside my suspension of disbelief. At one time I would have killed for free great seats, but I think I will have more fun just being on campus then going to see some crappy WWE show. Now, if Candace was going to be there it would be a different story.
