Fuzzy Dunlop 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2005 Okay, now I know that this was already billed as being Rey's tribute match to Eddie, and I thought that it was weird to promote a match for that already, but they could not have booked this any worse. First, we see Rey in an Eddie shirt praying backstage, right? And he begs to win his match, and for Eddie to be his guardian angel during his match. At this point, as CRZ would say, my spider sense was tingling. Then during the match, while he's getting the crap beat out of him, he starts screaming "Eddie! Edddddddiiiiiiiiiieeeeeee!!!!!" as if Eddie'll just jump the barricade and toss him a chair or something. Offensive. Things would only get worse when Rey crawls over to Eddie's lowrider, and put his hands on it, and Tazz and Cole, don't remember which but probably both, surmise he's getting some sort of power from it? Buh? Then Big Show, who turned face last night, and is entering a feud with the WWE's most hated heel, powerbombs Rey on top of Eddie's car, so now Big Show's a heel. Then Rey delivers multiple chair shots to Big Show even once he was already down and out, so now I guess Rey must be an even bigger heel. And apparently Kane is now afraid of his brother, even with his fellow tag team champion, Big Show, the tag team, that is, that has been built as being completely unstoppable, but apparently one guy can take them. Also, the only reason Taker interfered, from what I gather, is that as the Lord of Darkness, he oversees all dead souls, and was pissed at their treatment of Eddie's lowrider? I guess? Then Randy Orton comes out of nowhere, and has a weapon waiting in Eddie's lowrider's trunk. So he must have known that Kane would interfere, leading to Taker interfering, leading to Orton getting an RKO on him, as that would be the only scenario to explain why he had a weapon in his dead rival's car. Vince sees this as his opportunity to get Orton over, Orton destroys Eddie's car, and kills Taker in the process. Meanwhile, the match they've built for over a week, Show/Rey, still hasn't actually happened.

Downhome 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2005 The last thirty minutes of the SD special was the most tasteless thing I've ever seen in pro wrestling, period. I'm highly disgusted with WWE right now over all of this.

gWIL 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2005 Alright it was bad. Most tasteless, maybe. But how many times has the Undertaker been killed? With a car even. Why does shit like this surprise you guys? This is WWE which is quite similar to a soap opera.

This is WWE which is quite similar to a soap opera. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's funny you mention the "soap opera" element, because switching from the dramatic-but-no-heat-drawing Shane/Eric segment to (I think) an Angle segment was very soap opera-like for some reason, more obvious than ever. Austin is right, RAW is too polished nowadays. Dammit, take away all the flash and leave the curtain and TitanTron. It's 1997 bitches!

Its a bad thing to do less than three weeks after the death of a major talent, but still at least he's been "dead" before so the fans know not to take it seriously. However doing so in the middle of a supposed tribute match, and using the favorite prop of the popular deceased wrestler to push a fued that's been going on to long already is complete shit. cbacon 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2005 Nice to see Rey sacrfice more integrity after the whole debacle with his son.
Downhome 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2005 For anyone who didn't see it: All you need to know is that Randy Orton used the late Eddie Guerrero's car, to "kill" Taker, after a Rey/TBS tibute match, which Rey just earlier dedicated to Eddie. Just read that, and let that shit sink in.
Guest clockworkraven Report post Posted November 30, 2005 I can handle a powerbomb through the car. That's fine. Cars are good for props. But the rest... That really escalated quickly.
Fökai 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2005 I wonder if they were trying out new avenues in offending their audience without reprecussions? Note: Canada, as well as a few states including Hawai'i won't see this show, thankfully.

Guest Leelee Report post Posted November 30, 2005 I'd be happier that when Taker returns, Randall throws a bunch of drugs, steroids and a toothbrush at him... and tells him to die in Spanish. Might as well go all the way with it, now. But, no, of course Randall will just run away like a little bitchcakes, get his ass kicked 99% of the time, cheat to win somehow, and then Taker makes more ouchies.
