Guest Cole Posted December 2, 2005 Report Posted December 2, 2005 Hi guys, I'm wondering as of May 1996 was Eric Bischoff acting as President Of WCW and Announcer? Or Just One? Or neither? All help is greatly appreciated!
cabbageboy Posted December 2, 2005 Report Posted December 2, 2005 Both, or at least he was executive VP and later became president. As Joey Styles said "You ran the damn company or else no one would have ever given you a headset!"
Guest Cole Posted December 2, 2005 Report Posted December 2, 2005 Thank you very much! One more, was Sister Sherri still managing Harlem Heat as of May 1996?
CanadianChris Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 I don't think she rejoined the team until the summer of 1996.
Si82 Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 I don't think she rejoined the team until the summer of 1996. You're right. She returned just before Bash at the Beach that year.
Guest Cole Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 Thanks! I have one question about the Horsemen, going into Slamboree '96 the members of the Horsemen were Flair, Anderson and Benoit right? If I recall they were, since Pillman was taken out around SuperBrawl time... Can anyone confirm?
CanadianChris Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 Thanks! I have one question about the Horsemen, going into Slamboree '96 the members of the Horsemen were Flair, Anderson and Benoit right? If I recall they were, since Pillman was taken out around SuperBrawl time... Can anyone confirm? Inasmuch as the Horsemen were together at that time, yes, it was Flair, Arn, and Benoit. They weren't really together at that point, though, with Arn doing the angle with the Dungeon of Doom and Benoit kind of being separated from the group a bit. They weren't truly a group again until Mongo joined *shudder* after the Great American Bash.
Si82 Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 They weren't truly a group again until Mongo joined *shudder* after the Great American Bash. I feel this begs the question of who was worse as a horseman, Mongo or Roma?
Hawk 34 Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 Yes, it was Roma. Mongo filled the role of "big man", while Roma just provided the suck.
CanadianChris Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 Easily Roma. The guy just screamed JOBBER. Which he was for a good part of his career.
Hunter's Torn Quad Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 Mongo was several levels worse than Roma. Roma wasn't that good, but at least he knew what he was doing in the ring. Mongo couldn't work a lick.
Dobbs 3K Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 At least the angle where Mongo joined the Horsemen was surprising and fairly well done. Roma joining just came off as him being a cheap replacement for Tully Blanchard (who everyone was expecting).
Vampiro69 Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 Whats worse is that Mongo won a singles title in WCW before Benoit did. I believe he won the US Title by either beating Jeff Jarrett or Alex Wright for it. Even scarier is that the crowd popped for the Mongo title win.
Placebo Effect Posted December 4, 2005 Report Posted December 4, 2005 And then we suffered through Mongo in 1998, with him being especially unmotivated and beating Flock members over and over again without any real direction. And who can forget the epic feud with the even more unmotivated British Bulldog?
Guest Eric the Eagle Posted December 5, 2005 Report Posted December 5, 2005 Ah, the original hot coffee-feud. "Don't you stand there drinking coffee when a man is talking to you!" Epic.
