Team Angle Pusher 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2005 I saw a topic about Shelton Benjamin being misused and I immediately wanted to make a new thread about it because that thread is only about Benjamin. It doesn't have to be a top 10, you can also just name 10 in no order. Chris Jericho (Could have been huge like The Rock) Tazz (He really looked like a machine and if they pushed him in the WWE like he was pushed in ECW he could have easily been a main eventer) Shelton Benjamin Val Venis Test Lance Storm K-Kwik Rhyno Christian Matt Morgan ================== I probably forgot someone. Luther Reigns almost made it on the list because I was very impressed by his promos on Smackdown! before he got fired. He had potential. But I eventually chose for Matt Morgan because he was going to be the next big star out of OVW but he got a stuttering gimmick while he could cut great promos. He was impressive in the ring as well but he didn't get a chance to show that.
tommytomlin 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2005 Val Venis definitely. He was the total package, but once the Porn Star gimmick got stale (1999), he got screwed by creative. Sean O'Haire also, he was in line for a big push if Bischoff bought WCW and only got a month in the WWE before he was axed. That guy was money. This is going to sound ridiculous - but Randy Orton. Yeah he's been pushed down our throats, but until his recent entertaining heel run on Smackdown, he's been misused. His RNN gimmick that was starting to get him over was forgotten about. His face turn, which never should have happened in the first place was botched, and his title run was a failure. Another one - Hogan. His match with Rock was awesome. His title run was horrible. His tag team with Edge was weird. His program with McMahon, aside from their WM match, was woeful. Aside from the Rock, the only time Hogan has been used well was in the program with HBK. I find it absolutely baffling that Hogan, of all the dream matches he could have had, got lumped in a feud with The Undertaker and Triple H. Hogan should have been used for big money matches (Austin, HBK, Goldberg II, Rock II, Austin II) from 2002-2004. Instead, they wasted him in tag team feuds with Lance Storm, Christian and a program with Zach Gowan and Vince McMahon. A criminal misuse.

Team Angle Pusher 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2005 I agree with O'Haire and RVD. They both could have been main eventers
World's Worst Man 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2005 I must second the Val Venis love. He's a better worker than Shelton, and has more charisma. Yet the guy seems to be Heatlocity for life now. I'd love to see him ply his trade on the indies or in TNA, or even Japan. I think people would be surprised at what he'd be able to do.
spman 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2005 I don't see the love for Val Venis. They've tried pushing him, they've tried changing his gimmick, they've tried turning him heel, none of it really worked in any sort of significant way, he probobly should have just given up after the Right to Censor feud ended. Team Angle Pusher 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2005 His Heel turn worked but he was Bischoff's little helper. He should have been pushed to Upper Midcard level at that moment.
Epic Reine 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2005 I disagree with O'Haire being misued. He may have had a somewhat interesting character during his last run but he totally sucked in the ring.
Team Angle Pusher 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2005 No he didn't. He had quite unusual moves for a man of his size.
The Buzz 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2005 Chief Morley was getting pretty good heat, then he got squashed by the Dudleys and Austin and went back to being Val....the current result is The Bald Jobber on heat who's a good hand.

Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2005 Kane's gotta be up there. He could have had the biggest run of his career after his mask removed with a non stop path destruction like in late 97 to early 98 leading into another world title win that could have had a proper / decent run unlike that joke that was a one day reign. Fans love the guy, he's been a proven draw a couple of times. And what do they do? They stick him in a HORRIBLE feud with Shane fucking McMahon of all people, SCREW him over in what would have a good fued with Goldberg all because HHH wanted to stay in the spotlight, and then book him into becoming a little bitch against the Undertaker in their Wrestlemania rematch which was nothing more than an extended Undertaker squash that was nothing like (or good for that matter) their match 6 years prior then moves into being part of the worst angle 2004 by basically forcing Lita to have sex with and marry him, with Lita actually growing feelings for Kane 6 months later than was reeking of Vince Russo. Kane will be nothing more than an occasional main event jobber and that's bullshit.

Some Guy 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2005 I limit this to 3. RVD is far and away the most misused piece of talent in the last decade. I'm not a huge fan of his work but he was incredibly over and ready to hit the ME scene months after his WWF debut. He would have been the 3rd biggest star in WWF behind Rock and Austin if they followed through. Booker T was wasted big time by WWE. If he got even a decent push during the Invasion angle he would still be a top guy and a pretty good draw. But they aborted the Austin feud, jobbed him to Rock repeatedly, and made him Shane's lackey. Then after they rebuilt him he was jobbed to HHH. Which leads to... Goldberg. After his debut he was ruined by horrible booking. He could have drawn WWE a ton of money had he been pushed properly, but they chose to put him in long matches, making him talk, and putting him in lame vignettes. Goldbegr proved at Summerslam 03 that if they let him be what the fans wanted him to be then he could be over. But they chose to make him just another guy and proved their self-fulfilling prophecy. LivingLegendGaryColeman 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2005 Another thing to keep in mind with Cheif Morley is he didn't wrestle that much. He really did not get into the ring often until Regal went out, so they made him Storm's partner.

Team Angle Pusher 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2005 Nathan Jones? Konnan can't be a main event player, he could have been a interesting character in the Attitude era but that's it. Dupree still has a whole career in front of him
