C Dubya 04 Posted December 27, 2005 Report Posted December 27, 2005 I saw a lot less shows this year than I normally do, but the ones that I really enjoyed were Ben Folds, Bon Jovi, Gov't Mule, Trey Anastasio and Phil Lesh and Friends.
Henry Spencer Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 It was pretty whimsical, almost to the point of absurdity. But I can't help it, I'm a sucker for annoying whimsy. Really the show wasn't spectacular, I just didn't see very many last year.
snuffbox Posted January 12, 2006 Author Report Posted January 12, 2006 I would just like to add that (in light of the recent ridiculousness about my 'jamband love' in the emo thread) if it werent for Neil Young's Greendale tour in '04 a Bonnaroo performance would have been the best show I had seen that year as well. Damien Rice. Maybe this year will have another personal fave at Bonnaroo...another jamband like Rice or Saul Williams.
Lord of The Curry Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 Rice isn't emo, nor jamband. But you might be joking.
snuffbox Posted January 12, 2006 Author Report Posted January 12, 2006 Damien Rice, nor Saul Williams, should be labeled 'jambands'...but, unfortunately, many people have this assumption that the Bonnaroo festival is nothing but jambands. Its not even close.
