Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 There are big time rumors of Arrington going to the Bengals. He'd be a great addition for Marvin Lewis.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted March 24, 2006 Who hasn't been rumored to be signing Arrington? It seems like he has been touring the league.
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 The Jets signed Jon Runyan.
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 Oh man, I remember when he was a big signing like five years ago, I can't imagine him doing anything significant now though.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 He's at least a decent guy to have on your O line. Even if you are rotating him in and out with someone younger.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 New England re-signed Chad Scott. I guess that makes sense. Actually, it makes no sense. I guess the Patriots are waiting for more veterans to be shown the door or they are going all out during the draft. Frankly, I no longer have a clue what they are doing. Guest fanofcoils Report post Posted March 24, 2006 I think TO had too much charisma for the Eagles to handle, they rather have conservative dull personalities like McNabb. McNabb's leadership ability declined drastically from 2004-2005. He wasn't much of a leader then but I don't know really from prior to 2004 because I didn't pay much attention to the Eagles (or the 49ers for that matter). He should have "resigned" as leader of the team after his embarassing performance in the Super Bowl/in the beginning of the 2005 season. TO with his "outspokenish" had half of the team behind him, perhaps he should have gotten a shot as leader. And TO was the leader of the 49ers and not Jeff Garcia? I'm not sure and I don't know. Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 Not 100% if its true, but I hear that Keyshawn signed with Carolina, and Larry Allen signed with the 49ers. The Panthers get Smith some good help.
Guest Arnold_OldSchool Report post Posted March 24, 2006 Local media stated that The Packers are in talks to deal Javon Walker to the Texans for Pick #1 in Rd
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 That's shockingly high considering what Culpepper went for. Go figure.
Gert T 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 I just don't think Arrington will happen because ALL 5 of the Bengals O-Line are FA's after the '06 season. He'd be a pretty good addition, but I'm afraid he's too pricey. I heard he wants Julian Peterson money.
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted March 24, 2006 Local media stated that The Packers are in talks to deal Javon Walker to the Texans for Pick #1 in Rd 2 I don't think this makes entirely too much sense, but at least it'd be nice having Walker be on an AFC team. Having a possible Andre Johnson-Javon Walker duo could be ridiculous... if either of them return to Pro Bowl/next superstar in the making form.
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 Local media stated that The Packers are in talks to deal Javon Walker to the Texans for Pick #1 in Rd 2 Assuming he's healthy, I'm taking that deal if I'm Casserly. The OL can wait until the 3rd round. I'm pretty sure there's some talent that will fall that far (Bryan Colledge, maybe even Jonathan Scott)
sfaJack 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 No way I'd trust Casserly with a second OR third round pick so you might as well make that trade.
Guest Arnold_OldSchool Report post Posted March 24, 2006 Najeh Davenport visited the Oakland Raiders on Wednesday, a day after meeting with the Miami Dolphins, but the Packers remain interested in re-signing the unrestricted free agent. Free agents Tony Fisher, a running back, and center Mike Flanagan have left the Green Bay Packers. Flanagan received a three-year contract worth $9 million from the Houston Texans, plus a $3 million signing bonus. Fisher accepted a one-year deal with the St. Louis Rams for not much more than minimum salary, plus a modest signing bonus.
C Dubya 04 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 I'm beggining to get worried that the Eagles have no idea what they're doing. Runyan, while no longer as good as he once was, is still a very good O Lineman. He also brings a toughness that the Eagles need. They don't have that tough guy player left now. If they think that they can toss Andrews into Runyan's place, there could be trouble. Especially with all of the weight that Andrews is carrying.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 They know what they are doing. The problem is that their idea of a plan and the fans idea of a plan are going to differ greatly. They loss of Runyan would not bother me because I think Todd Herremans is a starting quality OT right now and at some point you have to let a young guy sink or swim. But I know that is the minority opinion of at least the vocal fanbase right now.
C Dubya 04 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 I don't trust an offensive line of new guys who were backups last year to an offensive line that was below average. That's my problem with it. Also, I agree that they have a plan, but everyonce in awhile you have to abandon you're plan and spend some money. You can't keep budget shopping and expect to win. Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 Yeah the Eagles haven't really improved their team. They still can improve it, but I'm really feeling optimistic about that. They have a large amount of cap space.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 I think it is unfair to say that because they were backups on a bad line then they are not worth a shot. All you can do is look at how they played when given a shot. Jackson was much better than Fraley when given the chance, Herremans played very well in his time. The weak spot was at left guard, Hicks sucked and Clarke wasn't really in enough to show much. And let's not forget they tried to spend big money on Bentley and he just wanted to go home. Hutch was given left tackle money, hard to fault anyone there and beyond that were the next tier of FAs really that much better than their internal options to spend millions on. And I disagree that they haven't improved. To this point they have signed Howard, Schobel, Gaffney, Barber and Garcia, while only losing McMahon. Even losing Runyan that still adds up to a plus, IMO. And that isn't including the fact that they are in their best drafting position in years.
C Dubya 04 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 See my problems with their signings are that they were either back-ups or question marks. The Eagles had a lot of question marks already after injuries last year, why add a bunch more. And color me unimpressed with Gaffney.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted March 24, 2006 In this day you just can't keep veterens around forever and toss around big fa money every year.

Flanagan received a three-year contract worth $9 million from the Houston Texans, plus a $3 million signing bonus. Fisher accepted a one-year deal with the St. Louis Rams for not much more than minimum salary, plus a modest signing bonus. These are all guys the Packers could do without. Najeh has been injured the past three seasons after showing a lot of promise, and Samkon Gado is younger and faster, while still playing the same physical, bruising style. Flanagan is getting older in years and has also been injury prone the last couple years, plus they have two great replacements in the interior line in Grey Ruegamer and Scott Wells. Tony Fisher was just worthless as well. I'm really liking what the Packers are doing with their free agents this offseason. They're cutting out a lot of the pork that've stuck around with the team for too long, and bringing in good value free agents (high talent for less money). I'm only worried about their kicking situation at the moment, but Thompson's doing the smart thing with rebuilding the team.
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 No way I'd trust Casserly with a second OR third round pick so you might as well make that trade. Yeah, there is that. Not really an impressive run for CC so far. Although he did manage to turn a 6th (Drew Henson) into a 3rd! Which he probably blew on a QB we didn't need (I'm looking at you Mr. Ragone).
sfaJack 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 Ah yes, the Ragone pick. I never got the logic in using a third rounder on a guy you hope never has to play for you. I still don't know what kind of rock Jerry was smoking when he traded for Henson though. Another genius move on his part.
Just John 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 Has anyone commented on Keyshawn signing with the Panthers yet? I think that's a good pick up and will finally take some pressure off Steve Smith.
C Dubya 04 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 Heard Keyshawn got 4 years 14 million. WIP radio in Philly is now reporting that Runyan resigned with the Eagles.
Lt. Al Giardello 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2006 Keyshawn will increase the Panthers chances to win a Superbowl, since they can't double cover Smith no more. Only if Keyshawn doesn't get selfish and wonder why he isn't the #1 target.
