Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted February 27, 2006 It turns out Young didn't get a 6, and they screwed up the grading. Don't know what he got though. A 1?
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2006 I think he did score a 6. No mistake here. He did, after all, sound like a dumb fuck after the Rose Bowl win.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2006 2Gold, you say Jacobs is scaring you, do you mean that in a good way or a bad way? Bad way. His throwing motion is just so damn slow. He really does need to learn a new one.
Guest Report post Posted February 27, 2006 Huh. Apparently Vince Young scored a whopping 6 on his Wonderlic. A 6. The lowest score EVER recorded for a QB (beating out Akili Smith). That might hurt his draft status a bit, maybe even dropping him behind Cutler. Local newspaper hack reporting Young took it again and scored a 16. Better, but still not that great. Now, what does that say about university acceptance policies? How the fuck he graduated high school, I'll never know.

yankovic fan 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2006 Wait a minute, I guess I was talking about Drew Henson. Mybad. Both of them played in the Big 10 and both played baseball in college. What the fuck's going to happen with Henson in Dallas, anyways? He's done, the Boys management has more confidence in Romo than Henson now. They sent Henson to Europe to see if he has any skills whatsoever. Watching the combine, if I'm an NFL scout then I'm taking Ingle Martin from Fordham in the mid to late rounds. That guy looked very impressive, ran a strong 40 time, looked very accurate with power and touch on his passes. Gardowski either looked nervous or confused by instruction. Jacobs throwing motion is scaring even me now, Kellen Clemens was kinda up and down, Jay Culter looked as impressive as expected, Croyle looked miserable and Drew Olsen is kinda slow. Ingle Martin went to Furman.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2006 Yeah, I got the schools confused. My bad. Marcus Vick looked ok, he was nothing really earth shattering which is what I think he really needed. And Jeremy Bloom hasn't participated in any of the hands drills. So much for him coming to the combines and lighting it up.

Furman played my Alma Mater in the first round of the I-AA playoffs this year and that's the only reason I knew that. We held him to 14 points... sadly, they held us to 12 (even though we passed up a FG chance for a 4th & goal @ the inch line and failed, as well as a failed 2pt conversion late). Great game. He's got a good arm, good form. I understand he's pretty intelligent and a nice young man as well. He went to Furman after a stint at UF saw him getting no playing time. I missed one question because I wasn't taking my time, but got the rest right. It scares me that there are people who score so lowly on it.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2006 Well I'm sure the questions were slightly harder and they had a hard time limit. Their careers and draft value did depend on it, as opposed to me taking it at home at my leisure without pressure (other than the time limit)
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2006 Yeah, the time limit is what messes with you. But if he got a score that low, it's inexcusable. He'll make up for it in his personal workouts I'm sure but I think the low score definately puts him behind Cutler who looked outstanding in the combine. Sharp passes, good mobility, knows how to throw a ball with perfect touch and just overall seems like he has a great head on his shoulders. Culter might end up being the first QB chosen in the draft now. He's just been that good.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2006 I always said (though Im not the only one) that Cutler would be the best pick, QB-wise, of this year's draft. Whoever takes him will come out looking like geniuses.

Vince Young supposely got 16. But really, this doesn't determine how he will make desicions on the football field. McNabb got like 14 on the test. Mark my words Omar Jacobs is gonna be a franchise QB. I don't give a fuck what his throwing motion is like, he's showen to be a great passer.

2GOLD 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2006 If it's a 16, it's not bad. Not good but not bad. If he got a 6, he's a moron and the only ones who should be ashamed are Texas. Jacobs was a good college passer, but his throwing motion will be altered. If you think an NFL team is going to let him slow motion throw with his shoulder push, you are dreaming. I am still sorta high on Jacobs as potential but I don't know how he'll react to the motion change. He seems to be a shotput style passer which is bad. Rich Gannon had throwing motion similar to Vince Young, and he won the MVP in 2002. Even Peyton Manning doesn't have your typical throwing motion also. And PORTER, what does my drinking have to do with you hating on Vince Young? Get off his dick, and go hate on someone else. He doesn't deverse the hate he's getting. Guest Report post Posted February 27, 2006 I have the feeling that with all the trades and shit that is likely to go down, it's going to be a huge clusterfuck when picking players. Guest Smues Report post Posted February 28, 2006 What'd Ryan Leaf get?
Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted February 28, 2006 Leaf scored well, from what I remember. He seemed to be a surefire pick at the time, but man did he bomb.. although I thought that maybe if he had played somewhere else he might've become something. He seemed to be a surefire pick at the time, but man did he bomb.. although I thought that maybe if he had played somewhere else he might've become something. Leaf had aggression issues. It was never a question of talent. He just could never get control of his anger. Chargers just never got him help and that was one of the things every scout in the league agreed he was going to need when he was drafted. Chargers ignored it and paid for it.
